With Lamar Jackson ruled out due to injury, there is finally some good news for John Harbaugh and the Baltimore Ravens. Zay Flowers, who had been questionable with a shoulder issue, is now expected to suit up against the Rams, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Even Underdog NFL backed it up. They reported Flowers is “expected to play Week 6.” However, he “likely play less than his normal allotment of snaps.” That part might sting a bit. Still, Harbaugh will not complain.
Meanwhile, Flowers has been grinding through the week. Three straight limited practices, shoulder wrapped, but still getting reps in. He showed up on the final injury report as questionable, yet all signs now point to him giving it a go. That’s toughness the Ravens can rally around.

However, there’s a twist. For the second straight week, Cooper Rush will lead the offense, with Lamar Jackson (hamstring) officially ruled out. And not just Lamar, a few other Ravens starters won’t suit up either. Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie (hamstring), fullback Patrick Ricard (calf), inside linebacker Roquan Smith (hamstring), wide receiver Devontez Walker (oblique), and offensive tackle Emery Jones Jr (shoulder) are out for Week 6.
However, there are some positives, too, for Harbaugh. Kyle Hamilton, Marlon Humphrey, and Ronnie Stanley are all expected to return on Sunday after missing Week 5. Hamilton’s range and Humphrey’s lockdown presence instantly upgrade a defense that’s been leaking yards through the air. The Ravens sit at No. 31 in pass defense, and those two coming back could change that fast. Plus, Stanley’s return on the offensive line brings much-needed stability for Rush and the run game.

John Harbaugh’s new plan amid Lamar’s absence
The Ravens are staring at one of their roughest starts in franchise history. Sitting at 1-4, they’re desperate to avoid a 1-5 hole heading into Week 6. Last weekend’s 44-10 loss still stings. Baltimore’s offense barely scraped together 207 total yards — their lowest output in eight years — with Cooper Rush filling in for Lamar Jackson. Rush managed just 179 passing yards and three picks in a night to forget.

Still, the Ravens are sticking to their plan. With a bye week on the horizon, John Harbaugh and the staff chose to give Lamar another week of recovery. So, it’s Rush again under center. Meanwhile, the front office made a smart move; they elevated Tyler Huntley from the practice squad, adding some insurance behind the veteran QB.
“We have activated QB Tyler Huntley and S Keondre Jackson from the practice squad (standard elevations),” the Ravens announced. “We have also signed DT C.J. Okoye from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, and waived S Reuben Lowery.”
Even with the struggles, the locker room is staying confident. “We believe in ‘Coop,’ and we believe in what we have,” Zay Flowers said. “We believe in our team, so I think we’ll be alright.” Still, history isn’t kind — Baltimore is 4-11 without Lamar and hasn’t scored more than 17 points in those games. So let’s see how they approach Week 6.
