It’s been 10 years since the Ravens HC John Harbaugh started the season with a 1-3 win-loss record. For his QB, Lamar Jackson, and the locker room, it’s a struggling time. With injuries piling up, the times ahead are going to be tougher. Particularly when the players who aren’t practicing have risen to double digits. 14 to be exact!

It starts with WR Devontez Walker. He is dealing with an oblique injury and did not practice on Wednesday, October 1. In 4 games this season, he has recorded only 3 receptions, but has gone for 60 yards and scored 2 touchdowns. So, they will surely miss such a handy player.
The concerns aren’t limited to the offence alone, but also affect the defense more.

Add the CBs Chidobe Awuzie (hamstring), Marlon Humphrey (calf), and Nate Wiggins (elbow). All three did not practice on Wednesday. Among themselves, they have 46 tackles, 6 defended passes, and 1 interception.
John Harbaugh did pay attention to 5 players coming back from injuries. Tackle Emery Jones Jr. (shoulder), NT Travis Jones (knee), C Tyler Linderbaum (calf), DE Brent Urban (finger), and OLB Kyle Van Noy (hamstring). Noy has already missed 2 games this season due to his injury. Even in those games, he only recorded 4 tackles (solo). So, the Ravens flock is hoping for a quick comeback.
FB Patrick Ricard is still out because of his calf injury. He stayed away from Wednesday’s practice as well. And things aren’t looking good for the week 5 game against the Texans. Yet the biggest concern is their tackle leader.
ILB Roquan Smith injured his hamstring and did not practice. For John Harbaugh, it sends alarm bells ringing as Smith leads the defense with 34 tackles (24 solo) and 1 fumble recovery. The list doesn’t stop here.
Another player who has been on the injury list for a long time is their tackle, Ronnie Stanley. They signed a three-year, $60 million extension with him back in March. But he also did not practice as he is struggling with an ankle injury. To pull out of their 1-3 record, the Ravens need a fully healthy roster.
However, that starts with their leader, whose status is still in the clouds.
John Harbaugh needs clarity on Lamar Jackson’s status
Earlier this offseason, everyone wanted to know if the Ravens would sign a contract extension with Lamar Jackson or leave things for later. Whenever someone popped the question to the signal caller, he always went past it, claiming he wanted to focus on the season. But after one month, John Harbaugh is bamboozled and confused.
During the week 4 game against the Chiefs, DE George Karlaftis tackled him, after which he went out of the game in the third quarter. For the millions of Ravens fans, it spelled trouble right there. While he did not look in much pain, he also stayed away from practice on Wednesday. The injury status report listed his hamstring as the troubling point, it’s worrying.
The additional reports will increase the headache even more. After having a lengthy discussion with Smiley Face on Tuesday, September 30, John Harbaugh still did not reveal the exact status. He said, “How about I just don’t say anything? That’s what I would do. Why don’t we just leave it alone?”

However, the head coach did give some positive news, too. The QB is attending team meetings and undergoing rehab. But the record has proven that they struggle without him. He could miss 2-3 games, which will happen for the first time since 2022. Moreover, they have only won 4 of 14 games without him since 2018.
So, the moment of recalibration is here. Can Baltimore do it or sway further down the sinking role? Stay connected as we keep bringing more news for you.
