The Baltimore Ravens found themselves in a crunch after they lost their TE Mark Andrews to an injury in the week 12 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Ravens announced that his regular season had ended and the fans have been looking for answers ever since. There was a bit of noise regarding his return in the Texans game, but that was a dud. The Baltimore team is now heading to face the Kansas City Chiefs and there seems to be a renewed hope for the return of the Pro Bowl TE.

Andrews took an injury to his ankles and had a cracked fibula as of November 16 and was ruled out of the 2023 regular season for good. Though the Ravens won 6 matches in a row without him, his addition would still be a huge advantage in the AFC Conference Championship game. Now the Safety Marcus Williams went on the “Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams” and spilled all the beans about the Pro Bowl TE.

At some point in the show, Kay Adams and Marcus Williams started talking about the Chiefs and Travis Kelce. It was at that moment when the host became interested in knowing how Mark Andrews was doing. Without diving too much into the details, Williams presented the thought of the TE having a green light from the Ravens.

“Have you seen Mark Andrews around the building? What can you tell me?” asked Adams to the Ravens Safety. Marcus Williams mentioned how he sees Andrews “every day” as he said, “I see Mark every day, I mean, you see him out there? He look good to me, you see him right there. If you can see him then I can see him. That’s all I got for you today. Williams said this as the host put a video of Mark Andrews practicing the ball and trying to run his route.

It seems as though everybody on the Ravens’ side is choosing to be evasive about Mark Andrews’ status. The injury list during the Divisional Playoff shows that the TE had limited practice on Tuesday, while he showed more promise with full practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Besides this, John Harbaugh’s update is all about ‘how it goes’.

John Harbaugh looking optimistic for the Ravens

In a press conference, John Harbaugh gave some hope to the Ravens fans that Mark Andrews might make his return soon. But again, the coach’s words suggest that it all depends on Andrews’ injury status. His exact words were, “We’ll just see how it goes. We’re looking forward to it. He practiced last week and I’m sure he’ll practice again this week. If he’s ready to play, he’ll play.”

Last time before the game against the Texans, the Ravens removed their TE from IR but ruled him not fit enough to play. For now, the Ravens’ Conference Championship injury list hasn’t come out yet. Baltimore designated him to return from injured reserve on January 12. As a rule of thumb, players have three weeks to be activated from that date.

Andrews practiced in full at the end of last week, but the Ravens decided not to activate him from IR for their divisional playoff win over the Houston Texan. We hope that their TE is ready to transition to the championship game in time to defeat the Chiefs. He has a couple of days before the opportunity presents itself. As for the question, ‘Will he return?’ Well, it’s all possible.

One take at a time

Basketball has stuck with me ever since I was a kid. I remember watching Kobe Bryant sometime in 2008 and being blown away. Like every kid my age, I was utterly taken aback by his moves and abilities as an athlete.
