Arthur Jones is no more, and the sports world is still trying to process it. The former Baltimore Ravens defensive lineman, only 39, passed away suddenly, leaving behind a wave of heartbreak. The Ravens quickly came together to honor him. “We are terribly saddened to learn of Arthur Jones’ sudden passing,” General Manager Eric DeCosta spoke on behalf of the entire flock. “Arthur’s presence was a gift to everyone he encountered. His big, bright smile, infectious energy and eternal positivity created a presence that continuously uplifted others. He was kind, courteous and enthusiastic — always displaying a love for family, teammates and friends.” Right after, John Harbaugh made sure to add his own tribute.

“My heart is heavy today after the loss of Art Jones,” he said. For him, this wasn’t just about a player. “Art was truly a remarkable person. A dedicated teammate, a relentless worker, and someone any coach would be proud to lead.” His words painted a picture of a man loved as much off the field as he was respected on it. Jones spent four seasons with the Ravens between 2010 and 2013, playing a big role in the team’s Super Bowl XLVII run. He spent three more years in the NFL, playing for the Colts and the Commanders as a defensive tackle. Hence, former Colts corner Darius Butler also remebered him, paying tribute. “Rest in peace, big fella! I’m going to miss our random check ins and laughs about who knows what. Arthur Jones, you will be MISSED,” he shared on X.

The reason for death is yet unknown. But Jones will definitely be in the hearts of his loved ones. And it wasn’t just football paying its respects. The UFC community stepped in as well. The official UFC account posted its condolences, writing, “UFC is saddened to hear about the passing of Arthur Jones. Our thoughts go out to his family, friends, and loved ones.”
