Forget fireworks, Brittany Mahomes just scored a historic win for the KC Current! This isn’t about her husband Patrick Mahomes’ touchdown throws, but her own achievement as a co-owner. The Mahomes-owned NWSL team scored an excellent 23 goals, setting a record for the most goals scored in a span of six home matches. 

This is more than just a record-breaking feat for Brittany’s team, who herself had aspirations of playing professionally once. After her college-grad in 2017, Brittany signed up with UMF Afturelding/Fram and the UT Tyler Patriots to play soccer in Europe. The American forward played in 5 games, scoring 2 goals and winning a championship trophy. However, her spell abroad came to an end, and so did her soccer career. 

Having returned from Europe, the 28-year-old quit soccer and started a business. The Mahomes duo co-purchased KC Current in 2021, the third-highest valued NWSL team. It’s currently rated at $75 million, trailing only Angel City FC ($180 million) and the San Diego Wave ($90 million). The couple shares team ownership with two-time Super Bowl champion Chris Long. 

More than just a co-owner, Brittany Mahomes’ commitment to the franchise empowers women’s soccer. Mrs. Mahomes is definitely living her soccer dreams via KC Current, one goal at a time. But the QB’s wife is not just restricted to being the co-owner for the soccer team.

The 28-year-old excelled in sports during her college days, but her career never really took off. Switching from athlete to entrepreneur, she founded Brittany Lynne Fitness. With a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, Brittany caters to fitness enthusiasts, who seek personalized diet plans and nutritional advice. Soon, she became a wellness influencer, thanks to her entrepreneurial venture. 

Besides the entrepreneurial side of things, the KC Current co-owner appeared also alongside Mahomes in the Netflix documentary, Quarterback. Additionally, she featured on the 2024 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie cover. Despite managing multiple ventures, Brittany is also an avid supporter of her husband and is often seen at the Chiefs’ games cheering for the team’s QB.
