Dylan Horton has been dealing with a serious health concern. On November 22, last year, during Week 12, the Houston Texans defensive end stepped away from the team citing “personal matters” as the reason. He didn’t return to the team even by the end of their season in the playoffs.
Now, on Monday, March 11, Horton announced that he is suffering from cancer but is in the stage of remission. Although it’s difficult news to digest, fans and his partner are happy to hear of his recovery and support him during his difficult phase. Tobie, his girlfriend, celebrates this positive update thanking ‘God’ for everything.
Dylan Horton shared on social media that he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin lymphoma on December 1 last year, but is now in remission. In his statement, he expressed gratitude for the love and support from his family, friends, the Texans organization, and his doctors. The 23-year-old wrote, “My next objective is to complete my treatments, then get back to playing the game that I love. Thank you for your prayers and support as I continue this journey.”

Celebrating his remission update, Horton’s partner, Tobie on her official “tobierinle” Instagram account, shared a story of the same. She reshared the post of Horton’s note from Texans and captioned the story with – “nothing short of remarkable. God is good,” with a white heart.
Tobie recently also dropped a series of adorable photos of them on her IG with the logo of the season premiere of the Texans added to the images. The event was presented by Amegy Bank to benefit the Houston Texans Foundation. She captioned the beautiful black and white post with a caption, saying, “Year one. forever proud of you” with a red heart, potentially celebrating the first year of Horton in the NFL.
Horton was a fourth-round pick from TCU last season, played in 10 games, and had 13 tackles, two quarterback hits, and a fumble recovery before taking a medical leave. However, he isn’t the first player from Texans who missed games due to cancer. John Metchie III also has a somewhat similar story.
