He loves football, and what a specimen this guy is,Aaron Rodgers said during his appearance on the Pat McAfee Show in April. He gushed over DK Metcalf. However, he distanced the other WR. It was WR2 George Pickens. HC Mike Tomlin made the harsh decision to trade him off. And the Cowboys did not waste any time in getting him to boost their Super Bowl chances. Although A-Rod has not joined the Steelers and still refuses to commit, he is pulling the strings in the back. Supposedly!

During the May 7 episode of the Maggie & Perloff Show, the 93.7 The Fan radio host Andrew Filipponi made some sensational claims. He first pointed out the preferential treatment by A-rod for DK Metcalf, “I don’t think Aaron Rodgers wanted to play with George Pickens. It’s no coincidence that he went and threw to DK Metcalf — not Pickens. In interviews about possibly joining the Steelers, he never once mentioned Pickens. I’m referring to that Pat McAfee conversation.” That was strange.

While talking about his future plan with Pat McAfee, A-Rod thanked Metcalf for changing his workout time from 6 am to 8 am. The veteran QB even called him a good human being. But he never took Pickens’s name in the conversation. So, this statement has logic.

He then also pointed to George Pickens‘s personality and added, “Given how Rodgers interacted last year with guys like Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams, and knowing Pickens’s personality, I think Rodgers would’ve had him off the practice field within a week of training camp in Latrobe.” That might be the real reason.

Pickens has never been the calm or shy one. Cowboys CB Jourdan Lewis taunted him after winning the week 5 game by 20-17. The receiver caught his facemask and tried to pull him down. So, he runs high on emotions. But the radio host went overboard with his claims that Aaron Rodgers will try to bring in his old teammates like Allen Lazard or Randall Cobb to the Steelers.

Given Mike Tomlin’s infatuation with Aaron Rodgers, he might give in to this demand as well if he put it. For now, the Cowboys are happy with their receiver signing.

What’s your perspective on:

Is George Pickens' fiery personality a liability or an asset for the Cowboys' Super Bowl hopes?

NFL teams laughed off George Pickens

The NFL analyst Jeff Howe made a sensational claim in The Athletic. He claimed that the Steelers were fed up with their receiver and wanted to trade him off. All they wanted in return was a day 2 pick in the 2025 draft. But just like Aaron Rodgers ignored him, the NFL team also laughed off this proposal before rejecting it.

He wrote, “Some teams polled by The Athletic at the time laughed at the idea of inviting Pickens into their locker room for any price, let alone a second-day draft pick. There wasn’t a lot of interest in talking with the Steelers about a trade.” However, America’s Team is happy with their choice.

Although George Pickens showed some issues off the field as well. He turned up 25 minutes late for the Christmas game against the Chiefs, while Mike Tomlin wants his players 2 hours before the kickoff. For now, they are visualizing him with WR1 CeeDee Lamb on the gridiron. Although by getting the receiver and 6th round pick in 2027 by giving up 3rd round pick in 2026 and 5th round pick in 2027, have they taken a risk too big? Only time will tell us.
