Is it time to officially panic about the Philadelphia Eagles? After their three-game losing streak, some analysts are beginning to think so. In the 20-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, the Eagles have now extended their losing streak with Seattle to 8. They haven’t won a game against them since 2015. So, how did a team that went to the Super Bowl last year and played five games without losing at the start of the season fall to their current state?

Rich Eisen said on his show, The Rich Eisen Podcast, that Eagles fans must see the writing on the wall and make amends before it is too late. They may already have clinched a playoff berth, but if they hope to win the Super Bowl, they need to play better.

Rich Eisen thinks the Eagles just got lucky during the start.

Eisen started his show by saying that he had some “bad news” for Eagles fans. What was the bad news? “It looks like the Eagles are a flawed team,” he said. He acknowledged that the team did go 10-1 in the first eleven games but alleged that they won “lucky style” and not “plucky style” because they were not an excellent team. Their current three-game losing streak is also their first since 2021.

In a bid to shake things up after their blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys, the Eagles demoted their defensive coordinator, Sean Desai, and promoted Matt Patricia to the role. Eisen said that it did not have the effect the Eagles had hoped for. He also seemed to agree on one thing about the Eagles: defense.
Eisen appreciated the team’s defense and said that it looked “more in tune.” While the team lost by a margin of 23 and 20 points to the 49ers and Cowboys and lost by just 3 points against the Seahawks, it was not enough to carry the team to victory.

With just three games remaining in the regular season, will the Eagles manage to snap their losing streak?

The Eagles need to make fundamental changes going forward.

Even if one dismissed the blowout loss to the 49ers as a one-off incident and made excuses for the Cowboys game, there was no way to explain the Seahawks game. The team was playing with their backup QB and not with their starting QB, Geno Smith. They also had a 17-13 lead into the fourth quarter, and then their luck finally ran out.

Even though the offense has some really good players, like QB Jalen Hurts, they failed to come through when it mattered most. Hurts looked like a frontrunner in the MVP race a month ago, but in the Seahawks game, he threw two interceptions (the most in his last eight games) and recorded his fewest passing yards and lowest pass completion rate in the entire season.

Even if the Eagles mess up the remaining three games, they can technically still win a seeded playoff berth. But for a team that hopes to lift the Lombardi Trophy after missing out on it last year, will that be enough?

I am a hardcore believer in the ?Mamba Mentality?, which certainly applies to the NFL. The sport is not just about physical prowess but also demands a powerful mindset. Growing up, I spent time with athletes on the neighborhood soccer field.
