Swift wrote on Instagram, “I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this. There’s very little information I have other than the fact that she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young. The cause of death of Ana Clara Benevides Machado, who sought medical attention at Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium during Friday’s show hasn’t been announced. A criminal investigation has been opened up by Rio’s public prosecutor and her body is being examined.  Fans and politicians speculate it was linked to extreme heat. Swift postponed her Saturday Night show amid this unfortunate event, citing “extreme temperatures in Rio.”

The “Midnights” artist also posted her decision to postpone her show. “I’m writing this from my dressing room in the stadium. The decision has been made to postpone tonight’s show due to the extreme temperatures in Rio. Swift, known to keep her fans and crew members first mentioned that the “safety and well-being of my fans, fellow performers, and crew have to and always will come first.” In videos and pictures circulated on social media, Swift was later seen urging staff at the stadium to give water to fans during the concert.

As for the speculation regarding her attendance at Travis Kelce‘s game against the Eagles, it seems uncertain if Swift would be present or even moving out of Brazil. The much-anticipated Eagles battle is scheduled on Nov. 20 at 8:15 p.m. ET at the Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City. Swift is scheduled to perform in Sao Paulo from November 24-26 before moving to cities across South America, Asia, Australia, and Europe next year.
