Washington’s rough night took a heartbreaking turn. The Commanders were already trailing when Jayden Daniels went down midway through the fourth quarter. One play changed everything. The quarterback lay on the turf, clutching his left arm. Trainers rushed out, fans fell silent, and the sidelines froze. Though Washington has yet to comment on Daniels’ injury, it was clear the QB wasn’t coming back.
What actually happened?
Daniels was still fighting, even with the scoreboard leaning heavily toward Seattle. He kept taking snaps, trying to spark one last drive. There were under eight minutes left, and the Commanders were knocking on the door for only their second touchdown of the game. The drive had life, and Daniels looked determined to finish strong. Then came the play that changed it all.
On 2nd & Goal, Seahawks linebacker Drake Thomas broke through and brought Daniels down hard. The sack pushed Washington back, but the real damage wasn’t the lost yards. As Daniels hit the turf, he used his left arm to break the fall. It twisted awkwardly, bending the wrong way as he landed.
He stayed down. The crowd knew it was serious even before the trainers raised their hands for the cart. His arm was quickly placed in an air cast before he was helped off toward the locker room for X-rays. Fans in the stands stood in silence, hands on their heads, watching their young leader disappear down the tunnel.
Daniels’ stat line told the story of a gritty night: 16 completions on 22 attempts for 153 yards and a pick, plus 10 rushes for 51 yards and a touchdown. But numbers didn’t matter anymore.
Soon after, the internet filled with emotion. First, Robert Griffin III took to X and wrote, “Prayers up for Jayden Daniels.”

The Commanders fans also flooded social media with messages of support.

Soon after the tweet, Griffin posted a video on social media, where he was visibly shaken for Daniels. “I can’t do this,” Griffin sighed as he turned off the video. No one understands what it’s like to be the face of Washington football, only to have their season shattered by injuries, better than RGIII himself.
And truthfully, Daniels’ year has been a tough one. The Commanders’ young quarterback has already missed multiple games this season, battling through one setback after another. Fans felt every bit of it, too.
“Man, Jayden Daniels is having a horrific year with injuries! That arm injury looks disgusting,” one fan wrote, while another added, “that Jayden Daniels injury was wild. Season is done for sure.”
So, the prayers poured in. “Prayers for Jayden Daniels. Awful,” one fan wrote. Another added, “Prayers for you, Jayden Daniels. 🙏🏼.” And another fan summed it up best: “Get well, Jayden Daniels.”
