But she didn’t stop there. Teaming up with her husband, Russell Wilson, the two just hosted an epic kickoff party during the F1 Miami Grand Prix weekend. On Sunday, Ciara Wilson dropped a post on her official Instagram account, announcing her new album – CiCi! Yup, an album on her nickname. Sharing the same on IG, along with her sassy, bold look in the black outfit, Russell Wilson’s partner revealed, “This album right here is my love letter,” in the caption. And honestly? It shows.

Ciara opened up about her emotional journey, calling the project “A celebration of the journey—and more importantly, a thank you to you, my Day 1s and Day 21s.” She poured her heart out in gratitude to her fans, her team, and everyone who’s had her back since day one.

That’s why she wrote: “You’ve stuck by me through every era, every evolution, and every independent leap of faith. Let’s be real—being independent isn’t for the faint of heart, but y’all? Y’all gave me the courage to keep pushing, to keep dreaming, and to keep dancing like nobody’s watching (even though millions of you are, lol).” Ciara’s clearly proud of her growth since starting her career back in 2004 at just 14 years old. And she’s not the only one beaming – her husband, Russell Wilson, is proud of her too.

On Ciara’s IG post, Mr. Unlimited dropped a sweet comment, “So proud of you. No One like you. #CiCi.” Well, let’s be honest. That was expected from Russell Wilson, because he is that one-man woman who knows how to be for his family and cheer for his wife’s personal and professional life. And this, we have already seen earlier during Ciara’s stage shows or grand singles announcements. In addition, we can’t deny how the singer herself admitted earlier, “I really feel grateful for our ability to communicate with each other. I feel like there’s nothing I can’t go to him about.”

And now, when Ciara is about to release her other musical compositions, Wilson is standing beside her holding her hand tightly. Afterall, this journey has been inspirational and learning for his wife.

On Sunday, when Ciara Wilson announced her new album, she also mentioned how the five years of hard work had been for her. In the caption, Russell Wilson’s love wrote: “Truth is, this season of life has been about forging my own path and tapping deeper into my inner drive. No label, no limits—just full-on freedom and faith. It’s been a journey of unlearning, rebuilding, and reclaiming what success looks like on my own terms.”

She further continued, “Grown, seasoned, still got the moves—and somehow just getting started. This project took 5 years to build, and every beat, every lyric, every moment was made with intention—to lift you, to move you, to make you feel something. Whether it’s a two-step in your kitchen or a soul-stirring scream-sing in the car—I just want to give you all the good feels. And when you see the 3D-printed breastplate? That’s not just a fashion statement. That’s my armor. A symbol of the strength I’ve had to summon, the boundaries I’ve had to set, and the power I’ve learned to wear with pride.”

Along with this, Ciara dropped July 11, and told fans to mark the date, pre-save the album, and tell a friend to tell a friend because this new chapter is the CiCi era! For context, CiCi is Ciara’s eighth album, via her label Beauty Marks Entertainment.

This 14-track album brings the heat with songs from her 2023 EP, plus new fire like Ecstasy, her slow R&B jam she calls “baby-making music.” She’s bringing the energy with tracks featuring Chris Brown, Busta Rhymes, and more.
