Russell Wilson is all set to chart a fresh start with the New York Giants! The 2025 NFL season for the Giants is pitched against a tough schedule. With a Week 3 Sunday Night Football game against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, and a season finale against the Dallas Cowboys on January 3, 2026, Wilson is ready to prove his caliber as a starting QB. But despite this, he never fails to express his love for his wife, Ciara. When it comes to matters of the heart, he isn’t shy about showing his softer side.
Recently, Wilson took to X to share just how much he misses his wife, Ciara, whenever she spends a week away. Reposting a popular video by Chad Harrison (@JeepguyTexas) titled “Baby’s first taste,” Wilson added his own humorous but heartfelt caption. He wrote, “The Faces I make when @Ciara gets back in town from a week of being away…,” adding a string of laughing emojis to it.
The video itself is credited to “G-PA,” and it features babies who give hilariously expressive reactions while trying different foods. And, it ranges from ecstatic joy when tasting ice cream, to comical shock at lemon, and intrigued delight with pizza and other items. With over 896K views, the clip was already making the rounds on the internet. But Wilson’s caption gave it a deeply personal twist, which albeit is relatable.

This lighthearted post comes just as Wilson enters a bright new start in his career. Signing a one-year deal with the Giants after a brief stint with the Steelers, he is ready to deliver his best. His 2024 season was marked by early injury, as a calf issue sidelined him. But he came back in Week 7, leading the team to the NFL playoffs. But the team fell short of its performance against the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card round. Despite limited action, he recorded strong stats.
Even beyond football, his move to New York marks a new chapter in his life with Ciara and his family. Ciara had shared her reaction to Wilson’s move to New York, posting a message for her 35.5 million Instagram followers, “Excited for this.” Not just this, earlier this month, the couple marked Wilson’s move to New York with a profound act. Through their Why Not You Foundation, they pledged significant funding to youth health equity initiatives.
In addition to her philanthropy, she also headlined Marie Claire’s “Class of Icons” alongside Taylor Swift and Zendaya, rocking a graduation cap and gown. But, despite the career highs and positive public reception, Ciara has never failed to keep things humble by showing us an intimate look into her struggles.
Ciara opens up about career struggles
Professionally, Ciara is gearing up to drop her eighth studio album, “CiCi,” on July 11, 2025, that she describes as “a love letter to my Day 1s.” And, this project follows the release of her sensual R&B single “Ecstasy” while featuring sensational collaborations with Tyga and Latto.

But, beneath the hits and headlines lies a story many didn’t catch at first glance. In a revealing interview with The Guardian (May 16, 2025), pop star Ciara opened up about the challenges that she has faced throughout her nearly two-decade career.
While Ciara came in strong, confident in her talent, the music world had other plans. As a young, Black, female, things were not going to be easy. She thought she was just making music, but soon realized the battle was bigger.
She shared, “I really didn’t think I was bound by my ethnicity, or my gender… Then, as I got older, I realised: ‘Oh that really was a different kind of war I was fighting,’ and I had no idea I was, and why I was.” Despite the challenges, she stayed strong and firm in her ideas. But, she acknowledges, “I was off-putting to some because they couldn’t convince me to think what I didn’t think.”

By 2010, Ciara’s relationship with her record label had soured. She revealed that for her third single from the album Basic Instinct — “Gimme Dat” — she invested $200,000 of her own cash on the video and promo. There was no safety net, as she adds, “I have always bet on myself, because I never wanted to leave my career in someone else’s hands.”
And, it pushed her to launch Beauty Marks, her own label, proving that she is a boss. And when it comes to cliques, Ciara has always been clear, “I’m my own clique.” As her music business thrived, she continues to support her husband from the sidelines of football. Truly, they make an iconic pair!
