Chase Young has been playing the final year of his rookie contract. He made his debut in 2020 after playing college football at Ohio State, where he hailed as the best NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year of the season. The 49ers may have acquired Young at a reasonable cost (considering his lingering concerns from a season-ending ACL injury), but it does resolve their pass rush issue.
