The Los Angeles Rams are doing things their way. In a league where flashy trades and big contracts often steal the spotlight, the Rams are quietly building something real from within. Under HC Sean McVay, they’ve gone from being written off as ‘in transition’ to straight-up underdogs with bite. This is the team where you’ll find a QB who chose the locker room over the dollar signs, and where culture beats clout.

And now, as they’re gearing up for the 2025 season, McVay has his eyes set on molding this squad with the right pieces. On Thursday, the Rams’ official X account dropped a behind-the-scenes clip that got fans buzzing. A video where the HC is breaking down Davante Adams’ tape in front of the team. Glad to be able to have Davante Adams,” McVay started, as the team leaned in. “He’s got a lot of respect. He’s earned it with the way that he works over the course of his career. But it’s always good to be able to see some of the cool guys that put on tape…”

Davante sat there calmly, locked in, taking in every word with that quiet confidence. Across the room, Matthew Stafford was all smiles. He was already picturing those deep sideline shots and tight-window throws to his new WR. And when McVay wrapped up, after praising Adams’ ability to win in isolation, his footwork, and calling him a “total G on the field,” the whole room erupted in applause.

While that moment in the film room captured the heart of Rams culture, it wasn’t the only headline this week. A day earlier, the Rams had already drawn attention with a big announcement, one that signals where the rest of their offseason grind will unfold. On Wednesday, Rams team president Kevin Demoff and Hawaii Governor Josh Green announced that the team will head to Maui for minicamp. Scheduled for June 16–18, the Rams will run that leg of their offseason program at War Memorial Stadium in Wailuku.

In 2023, the Rams helped raise funds during a preseason game following the devastating Maui wildfires that struck in August. “Our state went through a very, very tragic and tough circumstance in 2023. The Rams stepped up, and they ran their Mālama, which means care, campaign for us, and brought incredible resources to help us heal,” Governor Josh Green shared during the announcement.

Well, back to Sean McVay and Davante Adams; the HC’s breakdown of Adams’ tape has fans absolutely buzzing.

You know how he is with the ball. So he’s breaking down every single clip,” Davante Adams shared after signing with the Rams. “The first one was like seven minutes, then he sent another one that was probably another two minutes, just going through everything and talking about it.While the Niners showed interest, their offer to the six-time Pro Bowler fell short. However, the Rams made sure Adams felt wanted. And it’s clear from McVay’s detailed film breakdown that the veteran WR is now part of something special.

Another fan summed it up as “great leadership, man.” McVay shows how you can be a championship-winning coach without resorting to the old-school drill sergeant routine. “It’s almost as if it’s possible to be a championship-winning coach and not be a miserable drill sergeant,” another comment read.
