This year, the Dolphins have failed to win a single game in 3 weeks, and doubts about their game readiness are popping up. More than the losses, the more concerning fact is that they have allowed the rivals to score more than 30+ points in each game, revealing how poorly they have defended. That’s why the HC Mike McDaniel and his coaches are concerned and want some change.

DC Anthony Weaver also chimed in with a similar sentiment, “I may sit up here. I’m a nice guy. I smile. I do all those things. But all of our problems that we need to solve can be solved through violence. They want to legislate it out of the game, but we play defensive football. And in defensive football, at some point you draw a line of sand and you say, ‘I’m going to set the edge.'” Well, the DC has spent almost a decade working in defenses of NFL teams. But if he is telling you to be more violent, that’s certainly a call to change.
When asked about this after Friday, September 27 practice, their $73 million star Minkah Fitzpatrick also agreed with DC’s demand. He replied, “We’ve got to be in a position where we can play fast. I think when you’re playing slow, you’re not able to be violent. You’re more reactionary than being aggressive. We’re in a position to play downhill, put our shoulder pads on people, knock the ball off of people. I think that’s when we get that violence that he’s talking about.” Now that’s their defensive leader requesting his locker room to buckle up.

Let’s go back a few months, to November 2024, when the Dolphins were struggling with a 3-6 win-loss record. Their former safety DeShon Elliott was so unhappy with his performance that he called them “soft as f—.” HC Mike McDaniel tried to brush it off, claiming they were playing to the best of their abilities. But honestly, that has never worked as an excuse.

Yet, their defensive game hasn’t been very poor. With 6 sacks and 195 tackles, they have worked in bits and pieces. Now, it’s time for a collective punch.
Now, the coach is telling them to take inspiration (in part) from the legend Mike Tyson, who once famously remarked that he punched his rival boxers with the intention of pushing their nose into the back of their heads. But in the league, the Phins need to do that to steal the ball or stop their drives.

The Dolphins are going in for a wild ride. And everyone is calling for some physical action. Will that change their stance during the games? Let’s wait to watch that happen in action!
Mike McDaniel gets his player back
The passion has slowly been fading,” said TE Darren Waller when he injured his hamstring and decided to retire. The NY Giants were in a shock. But an even bigger shocker happened this year when the Dolphins announced that the star is coming back, and they signed him up.
However, 3 weeks have passed, and he has still not debuted for them. After Saturday’s practice on September 27, the HC Mike McDaniel looked positive about his TE’s availability for the week 4 game as he said, “(Darren Waller)looks firmly ready to contribute, which is why he will play in the game.”

That’s a big boost. Especially when their offense has failed to cross 30 point-mark in any game until now, even scoring just 8 point in the season opener. At 6-foot-6, the unretired TE can dominate the rivals with his size. His recovery from the hip injury has been almost complete. And Waller would have debuted against the Bills in week 3 matchup if the game was on Sunday instead of Thursday (September 18). Mike McDaniel had then said that he expected his TE to play the week 4 game.
However, for the thousands of fans, the double confirmation is a positive sign. They are already down by 0-3, now the only way remaining is to push up.
