A lot of moving parts led to Fields arriving in Pittsburgh. Russell Wilson was cut by the Denver Broncos, and he signed up with the Steelers. Sharpe takes sides with Justin Fields

A few weeks ago, the Bears secured the top position in the picks for the NFL Draft 2024. The conversation was around the future of Fields. With the Bears expected to draft a QB, Fields wanted to stay in the windy city. “If it was up to me, I would want to stay in Chicago”, said Fields a few weeks before his trade to the Steelers.

The 25-year-old’s wishes weren’t granted, and he was traded. With fans leveling criticisms at Fields, Sharpe was having none of it. “Fields also said he wanted 2 be in Chicago. Guess that request was 2 much 2 honor”, wrote Sharpe on X (previously Twitter).

Russell Wilson is ready to get back on top

After two horrendous years with the Broncos failing to qualify for the playoffs even once, the Super Bowl winner will be looking to kickstart things on a positive note. Hence, he’s welcoming the challenge from Fields. Ever since his rookie year in 2012, Wilson has not competed for the top QB job. But he isn’t backing down!

Fields will want to make the most of this situation and progress under the mentorship of Wilson. His output on the training field will legitimize his claim for the starter role down the road.
