The world has been dying to get some inside details about the Swelce saga. Now, the fans are getting some interesting insider details about the relationship from none other than Kelce himself! The Chiefs TE shared some new tidbits about his first meetup with the singing sensation in an interview.

From getting into detail about his failed meeting to sharing more about Taylor, the Kansas City Chiefs star revealed some of the personal details about his “love story.” However, the TE also shared a little something that the singing sensation might hate.

Travis Kelce lays down the truth

The Chiefs’ star had a sit-down for WSJ Magazine’s December/January edition. In a now-famous attempt to woo the 12-time Grammy winner, Kelce went to watch Swift perform at the Arrowhead in July. Per Kelce, someone played matchmaker for him — a detail he would learn from Swift herself later, “She told me exactly what was going on and how I got lucky enough to get her to reach out”

“I had somebody playing Cupid,” Kelce said regarding his visit. The 34-year-old further added, “She’ll probably hate me for saying this, but…when she came to Arrowhead. They gave her the big locker room as a dressing room. And her little cousins were taking pictures… in front of my locker.”

It seems like Swift’s cousins decided to take up fate’s job for the day. Now, we know who we must thank for this powerful couple’s meeting. #87 also revealed the most obvious thing they have in common: family.

Taylor is ‘a genius’: Travis Kelce

The couple had already become the talk of the town when Swift attended the Chiefs’ game against the Chicago Bears. Later she showed up for two more of Kelce’s games, and then came a surprise SNL cameo by both. It all culminated in the Argentina leg of The Eras Tour as she changed the lyrics of one of her songs. Later, Swift chose the best way to put a halt to all speculations by publicly kissing Kelce right after her concert in Argentina. But when did they start dating?

Kelce first mentioned Swift in his New Heights podcast after a failed meeting with her in July. However, before the New York game in October, they were “already kind of been talking“. Kelce also added that he was hesitant to talk about the singing sensation, out of fear of pushing her away.

But things have changed now! Not only did Kelce refer to Taylor as “Hilarious” he also mentioned that she is “a genius“. The star TE is also in awe of Taylor’s ability to express herself with such beautiful words, saying that he is not much of a talker and is “learning every day” from her.
