“What if I wasn’t Tyreek Hill?” questioned the Miami Dolphins star, who was left fearing for his life on September 8. As the 30-year-old was on his way to the Hard Rock Stadium—hours before the team’s home opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars—he was pulled over by a Miami-Dade police officer.

The primary responding officer, who was on a motorcycle, knocked on Hill’s McLaren 720S coupe to inform the player he was speeding. “Don’t knock on my window like that,” Hill told the officer at least seven times. However, things escalated as Hill rolled up the window and the officer knocked again, twice. “Give me attitude and I’ll break the window,” said one officer before yanking him out of his $300,000 car and on the ground.

During the altercation, the star was seen informing about knee pain and tendonitis several times. While the controversial incident de-escalated soon after Drew Rosenhaus, Hill’s agent, joined the scene, the latter drew a heartbreaking picture in an interview. Alleging how racism might have been involved, the former Kansas City Chiefs star lamented, “I was just making sure that I was doing what my uncle always told me to do whenever you’re in a situation like that: ‘Just listen, put your hands on the steering wheel and just listen’.” And now another vital piece of information has been added to the fray…

Sports radio talk show host, Andy Slater tweeted how Danny Torres, the 27-year law enforcement veteran who allegedly harassed Hill and is currently on administrative duty, has a long history filled with controversy.

As per NBC, Torres was suspended six times between 2014 and 2019—totalling to at least 50 days. Between March 1999 and September 2020, the veteran received four written reprimands.

While more details about the incidents aren’t available, the officer’s employee profile showed he was reportedly suspended for five days in February 2014. Additionally, he faced three more five-day suspensions in 2016. In October 2018, he received a 20-day suspension and in June 2019, he faced another 10-day suspension. Another report stated Torres also achieved 35 commendations between 1998 and 2023 for “dedication to duty” and being a safe driver.

But that doesn’t mean Hill is going to let Torres off the hook anytime soon!

Tyreek Hill isn’t slowing down

The battle between Tyreek Hill and Miami-Dade Police started when the WR violated traffic rules. Soon the incident caught fire, putting both Tyreek and officials under hot water. While the officers called the Dolphins‘ wide receiver’s behavior “uncooperative,” Hill demanded that the cop must be fired.

During a press conference on Wednesday, the NFL player stated, “Gone, gone, gone. He got to go man.” And that’s not the first time Cheetah has asked for Torres’ suspension.

On Tuesday, Julius Collins, Tyreek’s attorney also requested the cop’s terminations. He issued a statement on Cheetah’s behalf “demanding Torres to be terminated with immediate effect.” However, the NFL’s leading receiver also ate humble pie and regretted his own actions. Cheetah said, “I wish I could go back and do things a bit differently.”

Despite admitting his mistakes, the Dolphins WR feels he did not deserve to be given the short end of the stick. Hill said, “Now, does that give them the right to literally beat the dog out of me? Absolutely not.” He also mentioned how he could have been better and simply let down his window at the moment to follow the rules like everybody else.

Fast forward to today, the police officer is currently on administrative leave and it is yet to be seen what twists and turns this case takes. While Tyreek Hill demanding the officer’s termination, will the situation become better or worse?
