Despite the tough times, he is heading with an optimistic mindset, especially owing to his brother’s and family’s support. Notably, the quarterback always credits his brothers for his profound life and it is also said that he stands where he is due to their backing. So naturally, as he rises to prominence, many people have become curious about his accomplished siblings.

Jamie and Dan Burrow, both older than the Cincinnati Bengals QB, reportedly left their legacy in the NCAA football playoff, leaving a great impact on Joe’s life. From their shared experiences at Nebraska to their steadfast support for their little brother’s football career, the Burrow brothers have built an intense bond that surpasses geographical boundaries. Joe’s accomplishment brought the Burrow brothers closer together, leaving a substantial impact on their family relations. Surprisingly, despite their collegiate-level NFL career, the two siblings went on to pursue medical sales field.

Who are Joe Burrow’s siblings? Meet his two brothers

Joe Burrow grew up with two older brothers, Jamie and Dan, and their stories shaped his life long before Cincinnati ever drafted him. They weren’t just brothers. They were built-in mentors who had already walked the road Joe hoped to travel. The age gap was huge, but it didn’t keep them apart. If anything, it made their bond a little strange, a little funny, and incredibly strong.

Jamie came first, blazing through Nebraska’s linebacker room with a motor that never seemed to slow. He hit hard, ran faster, and carried himself like someone who knew every snap mattered. His senior year was wild. Nebraska finished 10–4, and he picked up second-team All-Big 12 honors, a moment that left Joe watching from miles away, thinking, Yeah, that’s how it’s done.

He even coached a bit at Ohio University, passing down the stuff coaches never say out loud. And once football ended, he didn’t sulk. He jumped straight into medical sales, then added a restaurant investment on the side, building the Early Bird in Omaha. He lives there now with his wife, Codie, and the kids James, Bowen, and his stepson, Charlie, making life feel full and loud and warm.

Dan followed a similar path but in a quieter, steadier way. He played defensive back at Nebraska from 2000 to 2004, slipping into a role that fit him perfectly. He understood the game like someone reading sheet music, so it made sense when he later coached high school players in Athens, Ohio. He moved through different jobs like finance, teaching, coaching before landing in medical sales.

His life changed again in 2018 when he met Jama Cash at an LSU game, watching Joe’s third start. One year later, he proposed. It felt like Joe’s career had handed him more than memories.

How many of them are in the NFL? Everything to know about Joe’s sporting journey

Only Joe made the NFL. His brothers played college ball, but neither went pro. That never dimmed the pride inside the Burrow house. Honestly, it made Joe’s climb feel like all three were moving together.

Their father, Jimmy Burrow, spent decades bouncing between coaching jobs, hauling the family from Iowa to Ohio with each new opportunity. Jamie and Dan spent most of their childhood in Iowa, learning how to live inside locker rooms while their dad broke down film. Joe entered the world much later, in 1996, turning the boys into almost-parent figures. Jamie once joked that they weren’t really brothers, “more like hybrid uncles”  and he wasn’t wrong. He sometimes babysat Joe by tossing A Bug’s Life on the TV and sneaking in a nap, waking to find Joe halfway up the stairs.

Their family tree held sports in nearly every branch. A grandmother who once dropped 82 points in a high-school basketball game. A grandfather who played at Mississippi State. An uncle who suited up for Ole Miss. The boys were built for competition whether they wanted it or not.

College football brought them even closer. Jamie made noise in the early 2000s. Dan held down the defensive backfield. And Joe, years later, became the quarterback who tied all their stories together. When he won the Heisman in 2019, both brothers flew in without hesitation, sitting in that room like proud parents. Dan admitted the season pulled their spread-out family tighter than it had been in decades.

They were there when Joe committed to Ohio State. They were there when he left for LSU, chasing something bigger. And they were there when he finally became the face of a franchise.

Understanding Joe Burrow’s relationship with his siblings

The bond looks simple from the outside, but it’s layered with movement, sacrifice, and quiet guidance. Jamie and Dan gave Joe examples to follow, mistakes to learn from, and support that never faded. They weren’t NFL players, but they shaped the one who became one piece by piece, mile by mile, moment by moment.
