While Taylor Swift hasn’t attended the Met Gala since 2016, fans had hope of seeing her at the high-end fashion event with her new beau, Travis Kelce. Despite getting invited to the prestigious event, the couple has reportedly informed about their absence through RSVPs, as reported by TMZ. 

Fans would have to make peace with not seeing the pop star and the Chiefs star in what would have been their first debut on the red carpet. The reason for their absence is mainly Swift’s tight tour schedule, starting three days after the Met Gala. As for Kelce, the tight end most probably declined the invitation due to his partner not attending, and it is even rumored that he will join her on her Eras tour.

Kelce talked about his excitement about Swift’s tours in a conversation with ET, “She’ll be all over Europe. There won’t be a bad show, I promise you that. Oh, you know I gotta go support. You know it.” He further spoke about her Wembley show and how Swift has performed there eight times. Comparing his game at the stadium, the tight end remarked, “Man, I’ll tell you what. The London shows—I think she’s at Wembley eight times, which is mind-blowing that she can do that many shows in one stadium and fill that thing up. I played at Wembley once and I don’t even think we filled that thing up!”

While fans still await a glamorous red carpet appearance of the couple, the popstar’s recent album has enough Easter eggs pointing towards Kelce to keep the Swifties busy for days!

It’s hardly been any time since the ‘Cruel Summer’ hit maker released her latest albums, and fans already have their lyrical theories brewing! The most-talked-about song is ‘Alchemy,’ which is rumored to be about the Kansas City star. Brimming with football references, fans have been having a field day, untangling Swift’s hidden nods to her boyfriend.

“So when I touch down, Call the amateurs and cut ’em from the team. Ditch the clowns, get the crown.” With direct references to football, it seems like Swift has immersed herself completely in the NFL fever. Though the singer references her ex-boyfriends in other songs, she’s made it clear that Kelce is on the top of the list.
