This whole Aaron Rodgers situation just keeps dragging on. Every few weeks, there’s a new twist, but still no real answers. The quarterback hasn’t made it clear what’s next, and the Steelers? They’re stuck waiting. Time’s ticking, and neither side can afford to stall much longer. Meanwhile, fans are left frustrated, hanging on to one empty update after another. Perhaps, this is why many are now left frustrated, including Terry Bradshaw, who slammed the quarterback and Mike Tomlin‘s franchise with a strong message.

Terry Bradshaw made it clear he’s not on board with the Steelers chasing Aaron Rodgers. To him, the whole thing sounds ridiculous, especially bringing in a 41-year-old quarterback for just a year. On the Buzz’s Morning Mayhem, he straight-up called it a joke, saying, “That to me is just a joke. What are you going to do? Bring him in for one year, are you kidding me? That guy needs to stay in California. Go somewhere and chew on bark and whisper to the gods out there.” Ouch! That’s harsh. But Bradshaw didn’t stop there.

He also slammed the Steelers for how they handled Kenny Pickett. He liked the kid, thought he had potential, but said the team failed him. According to the e-NFLer, they didn’t give him a solid O-line and real weapons. Then, after two tough seasons, they gave up on him, shipping him out. In Bradshaw’s eyes, Pickett didn’t flop; the organization did. That’s why he sent a harsh four-word message for the team: “He (Pickett) wasn’t a failure, the Steelers were a failure.

The Steelers haven’t won a Super Bowl since 2008. In fact, their last appearance at that big stage was in 2011. As Mike Tomlin has taken over the franchise since 2007, just one victory in these years has made the road tough for the team. Now with Aaron Rodgers, too, it seems the path isn’t straight ahead.

Although Mike Tomlin and the Steelers haven’t said anything yet about the 41-year-old free agent QB, they might be tired of waiting. So, does that mean the chapter is over for the four-time MVP?

Mike Tomlin’s Steelers don’t want Aaron Rodgers?

After all those calling-out moments, Steelers’ star defensive lineman Cam Heyward is back again with another stance on Aaron Rodgers. In an interview, the captain said, “There’s no need to recruit. It’s been more black and white up front… You roll with who’s here. It’s not guessing. You gotta get to work, you put in. You can’t worry about who’s not here. Same way goes if I were to miss practice. Train keeps going. We’ll see what happens. You really just can’t worry about what’s going on outside of here. That’s the way the Steelers have always run the ship.”

What’s your perspective on:

Is chasing a 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers a desperate move by the Steelers or a smart gamble?

Back in April, on the Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers made it clear, he wasn’t signing anything until he could fully focus on football. That meant getting his personal life in order first. But Steelers vet didn’t seem bothered by it. He pointed out that missing offseason workouts isn’t the end of the world. He skipped OTAs last year himself and didn’t feel it hurt his game at all.

So, according to the reports, Aaron Rodgers is expected to join the Steelers on a one-year deal. It’s done mainly to hold things down while rookie Will Howard gains experience or until the team finds a new long-term QB in next year’s draft. In addition, according to lan O’Connor, who wrote a biography on him in 2024, Rodgers might be stalling just to avoid mandatory minicamp. So, instead of showing up half-ready and triggering media chaos like he did with the Jets, he may just be waiting until he’s good to go on his terms.
