What an accomplishment!” Indeed, it was a simple and sincere acknowledgment of a life’s work well done.

Calvin Ward spent decades as a nuclear fuel buyer at STP Nuclear Operating Company, ensuring two massive reactors provided reliable power to two million Texas homes. What started as a temporary summer job after graduating from the University of Houston became a lifelong career.“It’s been very rewarding,” Calvin told the U.S. Department of Energy. “It’s allowed me to put four kids through college.” His dedication at the power plant set an example of commitment and pride for his children, including daughter Chantel and his youngest son, freshly drafted first overall NFL pick Cam Ward.
