Some older fans remember when the Tennessee Titans games failed to reach every corner of the state. This used to happen whenever the team played bad football, as per reporter Jimmy Morris. Now, with the Titans sitting at 1-8, the same worry is back. Even Cam Ward’s name can’t help the situation.

Recent reports say the broadcast map shrank again, with the game airing only in middle Tennessee. That set off a new round of frustration online. Even Paul Kuharsky jumped in on X, saying, “Side effect of being so bad is Titans start to lose whatever hold they have on Knoxville, Chattanooga, Memphis.”

Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Memphis are the biggest cities in the state. Nashville leads with a population of 708,772, followed by Memphis with 606,551, Chattanooga with 193,802, and Knoxville with 200,595, according to World Population Review.
These are significant numbers, and when cities of this stature pull away, it impacts any franchise more deeply.
#Titans-Texans on Fox Sunday, and Tennessee broadcast footprint is literally Middle Tennessee.

The story looks even rougher for the Titans. As per Morris, the networks think fans in East and West Tennessee prefer other games. They expect better ratings from someone else’s matchup. They might even be right.
Right now, the Titans are trying to move on. They have already cut ties with head coach Brian Callahan.

And according to ESPN, they have a 36.6% chance of landing the first pick plus an 87.3% shot at a top five pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. That might change everything next season.
But for now, with Cam Ward on deck again soon, all eyes turn to the next matchup and whether the state will even be watching.

Can Cam Ward and the Titans take revenge on the Texans?
The last meeting between the Titans and the Houston Texans left a mark. Houston walked out with a brutal 26-0 scoreline. Now the Titans get another shot, and the stakes feel bigger.
They know a win would mess with the Texans’ playoff hopes, and that alone adds some spark. Meanwhile, a Houston win would mean a 5-0 record in Nashville.
Even with all of that, rival coach DeMeco Ryans only wants to win. “That’s the most important thing. Really don’t care about … It’s just, can we win a football game?”
Right now, the Titans sit one loss away from locking in a fourth straight losing season. They come out of the bye as the league’s only one-win team and inch closer to picking first again in the next draft.
During the break, Cam Ward tried to regroup. He said, “Just took time, just getting back to the basics of football, getting my body healthy. And then just resetting my mind to go play another season.”
That spark is what Tennessee needs right now. Ward sits at a 72.1 rating with 1,760 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 6 picks in nine games.
On the other side, Houston just pulled off a wild 36-29 comeback over Jacksonville.
So now all eyes go to next week to see if the Titans can finally push back.
