NFL legend Tom Brady’s resume includes seven Super Bowls and a handful of on-screen moments, including one blink-and-you’ll-miss-it movie cameo. Long before his post-retirement ventures, he stepped briefly into Hollywood in 2003, appearing in Stuck on You, a comedy starring Matt Damon and directed by the Farrelly brothers. Now, two decades later, Brady is finally opening up about how that debut really went.

“We went out the night before to like four in the morning and I can’t believe we actually had to show up on set the next day but I definitely was over served the night before and it was a fun day because I remember being out there with Matt Damon and Bobby and Peter Farrelly and we just had a great time,” he said. Then came the punchline that only Brady could deliver.
“My acting was not great but I’m glad we did it anyway and it you know learned a lot of you know like you always do when you do those things you learn a lot about what you could be better at and I could certainly be better at my acting skills.”

Of course, that role in Stuck on You was his first on-screen moment, so a shaky performance was understandable. He acted as a computer geek in the comedy. And yes, if you blink, you might miss him. Brady even sported those early 2000s sideburns that screamed the era. It was a quick cameo, but for Patriots Nation back then, it was another fun reason to cheer.
Still, while Brady thought his performance was a flop, the movie itself did okay. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds a 62% score from 156 reviews. Metacritic gives it the same number, 62 out of 100, calling it “generally favorable.” So the movie earned more love than Brady gave himself.

Finally, it’s worth noting the film made $65.7 million worldwide against its $55 million budget. Not a blockbuster, but not a bust either. It even opened third that weekend despite being shown in the most theaters. And now, more than two decades later, Brady has another script on his desk. This time, he is stepping into a Kobe Bryant project.

Tom Brady joins Warner Bros. for Kobe Bryant movie
Kobe Bryant would have turned 47 this year. The Hall of Fame guard, along with daughter Gianna and seven others, tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash on a foggy Los Angeles morning back in January 2020. Yet his basketball legacy hasn’t faded.
Now, a new movie will take fans back to his Lower Merion High School days, showing the start of what would become one of the most legendary careers in Lakers history.
And here’s where Tom Brady comes in. Per Jeff Sneider of The InSneider, Brady’s production company, Religion of Sports, has teamed up with the producers of King Richard, the Oscar-winning biopic of Richard Williams. Together, they’re working on a new Kobe Bryant film for Warner Brothers.
Meanwhile, the script already has a title. Per Sneider, it’s called With the 8th Pick, a reference to the 1996 NBA Draft. The New Jersey Nets had their eyes on Bryant with that pick, but he and his camp told them he wouldn’t play for them.

The Nets passed and took Kerry Kittles instead. Bryant ended up going to the Hornets at No. 13, only to be dealt to the Lakers for Vlade Divac.
So now the question is how the project will turn out. With Brady on board and Warner Brothers backing it, this one has all the pieces to capture Kobe’s rise the right way.
