Tom Brady is juggling a lot of things this offseason. From making YouTube videos on how to throw a ball to writing an email newsletter on his learnings. And moving important pieces in the Las Vegas Raiders, where he is the minority owner. But you know, in a recent conversation, Brady revealed something shocking that exposed the true colors of the Raiders organization.
On a Podcast named Impaulsive, Tom Brady was asked about Shedeur Sanders‘s fall in the 2025 NFL draft, and his answer revealed something unbelievable. He said, “It’s a good question.” However, he continued with a bit of hesitation, “I wasn’t part of any evaluation process.” That’s horrible. Just imagine, a football legend who has more knowledge than anybody in the room was not part of the evaluation process. Why can’t we say that’s a betrayal? It was. But let’s break it down.

After Brady blurted out these points of view on the podcast, NBC Sports’ Mike Florio didn’t spare the GOAT. The NFL analyst and hard-core journalist analysed Brady’s “wasn’t part of the evaluation” remarks, recalling what Mark Davis, the Raiders owner, said once. When Brady was inducted into the Raiders front office as a minority owner, Mark Davis had told the media that “Brady will have a huge voice in the organization when it comes to picking the quarterback.” Then why does the legend’s answer imply that he was betrayed or something?
Well, we can consider that as a softer shield to maintain friendship and good relations with the Sanders family. The Raiders passed on Shedeur Sanders not one or two times, but seven freaking times. And if we take a look at the Raiders QB room, they have already gotten Geno Smith, where Brady had a say while choosing him. Another example can be Pete Carroll‘s hiring as HC.
It was also well-covered by the media during the hiring of Carroll. Brady played a major role in inducting one of the top coaches of the current times. So, it creates a pretty weird contradiction when Brady says he didn’t have a major involvement in the draft process.
Meanwhile, Brady revealed that he sent a message to Shedeur Sanders after day one of the 2025 NFL draft. He also revealed what he said in that message.

Tom Brady wants Shedeur to make the draft snub a motivation
Shedeur Sanders went undrafted for the first two days—an unexpected fall for a once top-projected prospect. It was a humbling moment, but also a lesson. To keep him focused and fired up, Tom Brady sent Shedeur a message during the draft, encouraging him to use the setback as fuel. Brady reminded him that the draft is just one step in the process—the real competition begins when the season starts.

He also added that he then sent a message to Shedeur Sanders: “Dude, whatever happens, wherever you go- that’s your first day. But day two matters the most in the draft. I was 199. Like, who could speak on it better than me? Use it as motivation. You’re gonna get your chances and take advantage of them.” But then in the 5th round, the Browns picked Shedeur as the 144th pick and ended the slide.

After the Browns drafted Shedeur Sanders, adding him to a crowded QB room with Dillon Gabriel, Joe Flacco, Deshaun Watson, and Kenny Pickett, Tom Brady offered him some advice: be a leader. In an interview, Brady said, “He’s got to show up every day. As a quarterback, you have to be a leader. And being a leader means: Do I care about my teammates? And do I care about what we’re trying to accomplish? Rules 1 and 2. I’d say that to every quarterback I come across.” But now the question is, will Shedeur get the top QB spot in the 2025 NFL season? Let’s see what happens.
