We’ve worked too hard to get to this point to allow someone else to take it away.” With a proud face and a brimming heart, Jayden Daniels’ mom firmly stated why “that kid” deserves all respect. Born and raised in California, Jayden has always listened to his mom, Regina Jackson, who’s also his agent and business manager. And she, too, has never been shy about making it clear: she’s got his back, on and off the field. That bond is exactly why the two have become one of the league’s standout mom-son duos currently. Still, despite all the spotlight, Regina isn’t forgetting the reality.

The reality that she learns from the NFL legend Tom Brady. With seven Super Bowl rings and multiple records on his sleeve, TB12 hung up his cleats from the NFL in 2023. But let’s admit this, Tom Brady was and still is the heartthrob of the league. However, with time, things do fade, right? That’s what Daniels’ fiercely protective mother thinks about this business.

During a new episode of The Pivot Podcast, Regina Jackson joined the show to talk about her son, Jayden Daniels, and the life before and after fame. While speaking to host Ryan Clark, she got real about the spotlight lately. Jackson said, “There are people who go to bat for us, and they’re supportive of us, and it’s to the point now. There’s a lot of brands that want to brand me and Jayden as the first mother-son duo, and that hasn’t really happened. But that’s what they want to go to because it’s something different, it’s something unique, and I just think the world needs to embrace it because we’re here. I’m not going nowhere, I’m not going to shy away from….(as) eventually it’ll phase out because things phase out.” Talking about the business side, which never fades out, Jackson made sure to bring up Tom Brady as an example.

She said, “Tom Brady is still Tom Brady to this day. But you know, he’s not as… they’ll get tired of talking about Tom, eventually. He’s hot right now. So, of course, you want to talk to the hottest guy. But a couple years now, we’ll (Regina and Jayden) look back and laugh and say, “Dang, remember when we were like trending, you know, all the time? We were trending like every other week.”

Jackson clearly admitted that people are showing up for them now, and while it feels different, she thinks it’s pretty cool. She knows it hasn’t happened like this before, and that’s exactly what makes it special. So no, Jayden Daniels’ mom isn’t stepping back. Still, in her recent comments, she made it clear, the buzz won’t last forever. It fades for everyone, even legends like Tom Brady.

Sure, Brady was massive during his Patriots days. But after retirement, a 2023 poll showed only 36% of Americans still listed him as a favorite. Still, as Jackson pointed out, the business side never really fades. Brady’s still “hot right now” with cameras on him and business deals rolling in. So, whatever this moment is during Jayden Daniels’ NFL career, they’re just living in it, together. But…there is a but! With all this fame and talks rolling in for the Commanders’ QB, Jackson has one motto in her mind – to protect her son.

Is Jayden Daniels the next Tom Brady, or will fame fade as Regina Jackson predicts?

Jayden Daniels’ mom wants to protect him from relationships

With his ROTY debut helping the team reach the NFC Championship for the first time since 1991, Jayden Daniels has already made a name in the league. However, with fame comes trouble, too. But worry not, Regina Jackson’s there for her kid. In the same podcast episode, Daniels’ momma got real about why she keeps a close eye on who gets close to her son. Now that his name carries weight and a dollar sign (many dollar signs $$$), she’s well aware not everyone comes around with good intentions. Hence, she made it clear, “Your dollar amount is associated with your name, so you never know who’s really there for you or who is really against you. It’s much like you have to, and our thing is like, I want Jayden to date.”

But that doesn’t mean Jackson is not allowing her son to fall in love. She stated, “I don’t want everybody to say, I’m putting on record. My son can date, he can live freely, and make his own decisions. However, the relationship we have, he does value my opinion because, you know, when my kids were little, I did a lot for them. So, my kids saw that my father, my background, worked too hard to allow anybody, at any moment, to come in and just, you know, take it away.

In addition, Jackson also confirmed that Jayden Daniels only knows about football. “He doesn’t know the business world. He doesn’t know the predators or the vultures that could be out there.” So, he is happy and comfortable to see his momma have his back all the time.
