There are or were many players who wanted to play with or against Patrick Mahomes or Tom Brady. And why shouldn’t they wish for it? These two quarterbacks have changed the landscape of the NFL, with many analysts believing after Brady’s era, Mahomes’ phase is taking up the league. However, still the former NFL player, Cam Newton would love to battle against the legendary player Brady.

Remember 2017’s Carolina vs New England game, many people thought Brady’s team would win, but it was actually the Panthers who came out on top. Graham Gano knocked down a 48-yard field goal as the game ended, and Newton scored four touchdowns, helping the Panthers win 33-30 in Foxborough, Massachusetts. This game was again recalled by Newton, who wished to play Brady once again, while ignoring the battle against Mahomes.

In a recent episode of the Club Shay Shay, Cam Newton joined Shannon Sharpe, delving into a wide array of topics from football to fashion. He highlighted his choice of Tom Brady over Patrick Mahomes, when Sharpe put a hypothetical situation in front of him. The host gave him a scenario: in the last drive of the game, with two minutes left on the clock and needing to go 80 yards for a game-winning touchdown, who would Cam choose between Brady and Mahomes, both in their prime?

Cam replied, “Brady! Why it’s Brady, it I mean not to minimize Patrick, I remember playing, I never played Patrick Mahomes, the time I was supposed to play him I had Covid, okay. I remember playing Tom Brady in New England, I think it was 2017 or 2018 and the impact that he had was like the game is never over as a quarterback you never want to get distracted by the opposing offense.

He acknowledged that Mahomes had a similar impact, but with Brady, it was different; it felt like there was always too much time left when playing against him. Cam emphasized Brady’s consistent ability to get it done, whether he had elite support or not. He also credited the entire Patriots organization, not just Brady, for their success.

In conclusion Newton emphasized that he would pick Tom Brady every single day in that scenario. However, there are some other analysts who believe Mahomes is better than Brady.

In the midst of a heated discussion about the greatest quarterback of all time, the focus shifts to Patrick Mahomes. Despite Mahomes’ impressive performance in Super Bowl LVIII and his three Super Bowl wins and MVP titles at just 28, the consensus remains that Tom Brady holds the title of the greatest quarterback ever. The debate highlights the difference between longevity and exceptional skill. While Brady may have had the greatest career in terms of achievements, Mahomes is seen as the player who stands out the most in terms of talent and innovation on the field. The comparison is also likened to different types of runners: Mahomes, like Usain Bolt, excels in short bursts of brilliance, while Brady, like Eliud Kipchoge, maintains consistent success over a longer period. The analysts suggested that perhaps a new term, like Best of All Time, is needed to properly recognize Mahomes’ unique abilities.

As per the stats, in his first year as a starting quarterback, Mahomes won the MVP award. When we look at the lowest and highest levels of performance he can achieve, Mahomes’ potential is seen as greater than Brady’s. Over the first six seasons of their careers, including playoff games, Mahomes has won 88 out of 113 games, thrown for 260 touchdowns, and won three Super Bowls. In comparison, Brady won 82 out of 108 games, threw for 167 touchdowns, and also won three Super Bowls during the same period. While Brady’s achievements are acknowledged and respected, Mahomes’ unique skills and dominance in his era position him as the standout player of his generation.

Even Mahomes himself acknowledged that he has a long way to go before potentially surpassing Brady’s legacy, indicating that the debate will likely continue for years to come.
