When the 2023 season winds up and the Super Bowl Champion has been declared, football fans won’t have to sulk. The 2024 offseason promises to be an exciting one, with many great players becoming free agents. It will be intriguing to see which player ends up where. It will be a fight in the open as teams scramble to get the best players for themselves while being constrained by the NFL’s salary cap.

A few of the players will get franchise-tagged and agree to contract extensions with the teams that they are playing for currently, and a good portion might just want to try their luck in the open market. With exciting options available for teams, they will be split for choice. So, who are the top free agents at every offensive position?

1. Quarterback: Kirk Cousins

@PFF picked the Minnesota Vikings’ Kirk Cousins as their pick for the top QB free agent. While the QB has been incapacitated for the entire season due to his Achilles tear injury, he has managed to remain at the top with 2,331 passing yards, and 18 TDs, 5 interceptions.

He is slated to be back in 6-9 months and will be an attractive option for the NFL franchises.

2. Running back: Saquon Barkley

Barkley has had an injury-riddled career as well and has had 2 seasons off his resume because of injuries. He returned to his glory days in the last season when he carried the New York Giants offense to the playoffs. He has recorded 1,650 rushing yards, and 10 TDs and even has seen Pro Bowl action. After failing to secure a long-term extension that he desired with his current team, he has now decided to approach the free market.

3. Wide receiver: Tee Higgins

Again a brilliant career plagued by injuries, the Cincinnati Bengals seem hesitant to extend Tee Higgins’ time with them. He had caught 74 passes for 1,029 yards in 2022 and recorded more than 900 yards in each of his first 3 seasons.

He has the perfect combination of size and agility, but has time and again proved to be vulnerable to double coverage. Will this adversely affect his trade chances?

4. Tight end: Dalton Schultz

Dalton signed with the Houston Texans earlier this year and quickly established himself as one of the favorite targets of QB CJ Stroud. He has registered 40 catches for 455 yards and 5 TDs in his short stint so far. But it seems that the Texans are not looking to engage him further and he will hit the free market as soon as the season ends.

5. Offensive tackle: Tyron Smith

Veteran OT Tyron Smith had made it known to his team, in no uncertain terms, that he wants to stay with the Dallas Cowboys till his time in the NFL runs out.

But he has failed to secure an extension and his team will bid adieu to him in March. Next season will be his 13th season in the league.

6. Offensive guard: Kevin Zeitler

The Baltimore Ravens have decided to let go of Zeitler who played with them for 3 years. During his time with the Purple Pain, he helped consolidate the right side of the offensive line. But apparently, that was not enough for the Ravens who were not impressed by his performance.

7. Center: Connor Williams

The Miami Dolphins player is playing his 6th season and is yet to make it to the Pro Bowl. But he has emerged as one of the dark horses of the O-linemen in the NFL. He is currently the best offensive lineman in the entire franchise and has emerged as the third-best Center in the entire league. Which team will he sign up with?

I am a hardcore believer in the ?Mamba Mentality?, which certainly applies to the NFL. The sport is not just about physical prowess but also demands a powerful mindset. Growing up, I spent time with athletes on the neighborhood soccer field.
