“Touchdown Ravens”: Most Valuable Lamar Jackson Seamlessly Ends Baltimore’s Playoffs Curse, Super Bowl and MVP Next?

Lamar Jackson continues to set the tone for QBs this season. The Ravens look set to head into their first AFC Championship game since 2012 and the famous Joe Flacco era. And Jackson has had a significant part to play in the Ravens’ resurgence this season. As the QB1 thrashed the Texans‘ defense, the notion of the curse breaker turned into an anticipated reality for the Baltimore side.
Lamar Jackson has often been labeled as one of the great QBs, but not the best in the league, in part because of his patchy NFL form. However, that notion may not stand for long as the Ravens step ever so close to breaking their curse and rewriting history.
After missing out on 2022 Wildcard matchups because of an injury, Lamar Jackson is back in the NFL playoffs with a vengeance. The Ravens QB has challenged the long-awaited return to the AFC championship, which was back in their Super Bowl-winning campaign in 2012 with Joe Flacco passing for the Baltimore-based franchise.

The Rushing TD to extend Baltimore’s lead emphasizes what Jackson has been doing so far this season, keeping his team in constant control of the play. The commentators rejoiced Lamar Jackson’s TD with an ecstatic “Touchdown Ravens” as they joined M&T Bank Stadium to celebrate the rush. Even the post on X from the Ravens account stated the applause for the player, referencing him by his jersey number, saying, “EIGHT THE GREAT!”
This time around, the Ravens are witnessing the most consistent form from their QB. In the meantime, Jackson has been a QB reborn ever since he signed his then-record deal for a Quarterback committing to the Ravens. Lamar Jackson upped his TD output by almost 30% as he recorded 24 TD passes this season compared to 2022.

While many expected the Ravens and especially Lamar Jackson to capitulate under the pressure of the Playoff chase, Jackson has flourished and ripped through his opponents throughout the regular season. The Texans dared to defy the odds with rookies C. J. Stroud and DeMeco Ryans at the helm against the Ravens, but could not take matters too far.
Baltimore shut down any hope they may have had, as Jackson notched up 2 TD passes and 2 Rushing TDs to his name to aid the Ravens’ effort to lift the curse that has plagued Baltimore for so long. This Playoff run could very well be the one that brings the Ravens their elusive 3rd Super Bowl title in their 27-year history and potentially could secure the 2nd MVP crown for Lamar Jackson.
