Travis Hunter isn’t just redefining what it means to be a two-way phenom in the NFL! This weekend, the Jacksonville Jaguars’ rising star is stepping into a new chapter in his life—he’s getting married. Yes, you read it right. The former Heisman winner and 2025 No. 2 overall pick is all set to tie the knot with longtime fiancée Leanna Lenee. And, it was confirmed by sports insider Dov Kleiman, who dropped the news with a photo of the couple in a sideline embrace.

Taking to his X account, Kleiman posted, “Congrats! Jaguars to 22-year-old superstar WR/CB Travis Hunter plans on getting married to his 23-year-old fiancée Leanna Lenee this weekend in Tennessee.” He posted confirming that the couple is tying the knot in a Tennessee ceremony that’s been years in the making. He further celebrated it, penning, “There’s nothing more special than true love.”

From Jackson State to Colorado, Leanna has been his constant. When Travis proposed to her during a dreamy Puerto Rico getaway in early 2024, fans saw the ring. However, the real gem is their journey. Her Instagram caption — “A million times, yes,” depicted her ecstatic joy.

Despite social media controversies later that year, including resurfaced videos and a misunderstood reaction during Hunter’s Heisman Trophy win, the couple remained united. Leanna also took to addressing the criticism in an emotional 8-minute TikTok before she stepped away from public platforms for her mental health. Amidst this, Travis stood firmly by her.

And, the draft night in Green Bay was unforgettable. Hunter looked chic in a custom fit, which he completed with a solid gold Rolex and matching bracelet, both gifted by Leanna. As Kleiman put it: “Wholesome: Travis Hunter’s fiancée Leanna Lenee surprised him with a solid gold Rolex… There’s nothing more special than true love.” Their love indeed knows no bounds.

Hunter, 22, has already won the hearts of the NFL world with his two-way talent. Graduating from the University of Colorado as a first-generation student with a degree in anthropology, he wore Jaguars pajama pants beneath his gown. But now, as he prepares to say “I do,” he must also deal with a personal crisis as his family faces a setback.

Travis Hunter’s family setbacks

Travis Hunter’s NFL ascent hasn’t come without serious family hurdles. While he was drafted No. 2 overall by the Jaguars, the ongoing dilemma of his father, Travis Hunter Sr., who is facing legal troubles, has cast a long shadow over the family’s journey.

In November 2023, Hunter Sr. was arrested in Florida for a list of charges. It includes driving without a license, possession of dr*gs, a loaded pist*l, and illegal firearm possession as a convicted felon. For a man who was already charged with a prior felony conviction pertaining to her**n sales, it led to a sentence including jail time, probation, and community control supervision. The timing was not good, as he was released from jail just days before Hunter Jr. claimed the Heisman Trophy.

But, due to restrictions, he was kept away from attending the ceremony. Judge Howard Coates Jr. wasn’t buying the argument that Hunter Jr.’s rise meant his dad deserved special treatment. “I don’t know that changes the father’s situation for me,” Coates said bluntly. “In fact, it’s given me some concern that you’re almost arguing for special treatment.

His attorney, Bradford Cohen, argued that circumstances had changed now that Hunter Jr. is a professional athlete who could employ his dad. And, he could get stable housing and support.

Cohen insisted, “If someone were to win the lottery or move neighborhoods, those changes wouldn’t be favoritism.” Yet Judge Coates wasn’t convinced, as he said, “Probably 99 percent of the public out there that doesn’t have an athlete son… might look at this and say,This sounds like special treatment for the athlete’s father’.”

Hunter Sr. has been granted some special permissions before. He was allowed to attend the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay and recently got the green light to fly to Tennessee for his son’s upcoming wedding. So, as the wedding bells will ring soon, Travis Hunter will have his father around during the ceremony.
