The 24th of April 2025 will always be a memorable day for the Hunter family. It was the day Travis Hunter made the biggest move of his lifetime. The move from college football to the NFL. It was on that day that Travis Hunter was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in front of his mother. A day that she will forever cherish, after all, all her prayers, which she had made for him ever since he started playing, were answered.

This time, however, making the big move is Travis Hunter’s mom, Ferrante Edmonds herself. In an Instagram story that Ferrante uploaded, she revealed that she will now be making a new career move. From housewife and support system to motivational speaker, life coach, and Minister of Gospel. In the story, Ferrante shared a poster with a picture of her, alongside the words, “Need a speaker who brings fire, faith, and real-life wisdom.”

The poster also said, “She doesn’t just speak- She ignites, She doesn’t just motivate- she transforms,” highlighting her immense talent for speaking to a crowd and igniting a fire within them, especially with the word of the almighty. The poster, while mentioning her email ID, also read, “If you’re planning a women’s conference, revival, panel, leadership event, or youth empowerment session? Ferrante is ready to bring a raw, real, and anointed word that shifts atmospheres and stirs souls.” It seems that Mama Hunter is ready to undertake a new challenge, while still supporting Trayvis, Travis’ little brother, in his footballing career.

It is a fitting move for Ferrante as well, given how good her oratory skills are. We’d have to go back to when she gave a thundering speech at Can We Talk Sports show’s Sports Mom Conference 2025. It was in this speech that she had told everyone to leave it all to god and do their part. “So the doors that God has for you, nobody can shut…So why are you worrying about addressing something…I don’t have time to go back. If I’m going back I am missing the blessing they have for me in the front,” she had said.

At the same time, she reminded everyone to shape their own destinies and not to wait for someone else to do it for them. It’s never too late for you to write your story. So write your story. Don’t let other people to take the pen and write it for you. Use your words, your words have power,” encouraged Edmonds. It was then that we should’ve taken a guess, after all, it was a pretty motivating and powerful speech she gave.

Her spirituality, her faith in god, and her humility are what make Edmonds so powerful. And from the looks of it, she has even passed these qualities down to her son, Travis, who recently made a co-passenger a fan.

Travis’ bold gesture on flight goes viral

Weeks after being drafted by the Jaguars, Travis has once again gone viral. However, this time it’s not related to football. It is for his humility and the acts of kindness he showed to a stranger on his flight from Denver. Something he seems to have inherited from his mother.

Recalling her United Airlines flight from Denver, a woman had posted on Facebook that during her travel, she was sitting next to “the nicest young man”. The young man in question? Travis Hunter. In the post, Sandy Combs, the woman in question, while talking about Travis’ character, said, “He offered to put my bag in the overhead compartment and helped me with my tray. He was always polite, saying ‘yes ma’am’ or ‘no ma’am.” Such was Travis’ impression on the lady that she commented, “Anyone would be proud to have him as a son or grandson—so polite

Combs initially had no idea who he was, though. She said, “People walking by were saying congratulations, great job, or even taking pictures.” That was when she turned and asked, “Who am I sitting next to?” and upon seeing his Jaguar pants, asked him, “Are you an athlete?” to which he smiled and said, “I’m Travis. Yes, I was drafted by the Jags.”

Combs, very impressed by Travis, further wrote, “He’s so humble and down-to-earth—I would have never guessed he was a professional athlete. JACKSONVILLE JAGS, you did good! I will be buying tickets.” Combs managed to get a selfie of the two as well before they went their separate ways. A picture and a story that has since won the internet’s heart.
