They weren’t the most decorated team of the 1970s, but no team captured the spotlight like the Dallas Cowboys. Born in 1960 and battered through their early years, they found their stride by ’66 and carved out 20 straight winning seasons under Tom Landry’s stoic gaze. Their Super Bowl wins were big, but their moments were bigger. Like in Super Bowl VI, when Bob Lilly, the original Cowboy, chased Dolphins QB Bob Griese 29 yards backward for a sack—a single play that distilled Dallas’ relentlessness into one iconic image. By the time NFL Films casually dubbed them ‘America’s Team’ in the 1978 season recap, the nickname felt earned. With their silver helmets, national TV presence, and a knack for postseason theater, the Cowboys had already become something larger than just a team.

But the Cowboys now have serious competition, with many fans now dubbing the Kansas City Chiefs as the new ‘America’s Team’. It is not without reason, though. They have won 9 consecutive division wins, along with 3 Super Bowls, and have recorded more wins than losses in every season since Andy Reid took over in 2013. While they did miss the chance to 3-peat last season, their dominance in the NFL has created an impressive case in their favor.

Discussing this transfer of title were the Kelce brothers. In a video posted on Instagram by the New Heights Show, it was Jason Kelce who started that discussion. But instead of stating numbers or anyone else’s opinion, he backed it up with a hilarious video. The video showed a man who turned a huge Dallas Cowboys tattoo on his back into a Chiefs tattoo. Jason took a swipe at the Cowboys, the Eagles‘ arch-rivals, saying that it wassuch a Cowboys fan thing to do“. Amidst some banter between the brothers, Jason went back and suggested that the man might not even be from Dallas.

He grew up thinking, hey, this is the popular team to pick, and he picked them. And then he had it tattooed across his entire back, like it’s the coolest thing in the world. And he’s like, oh, these guys suck. How can I get a cool team on my back?” Jason said, aptly describing how Cowboys have been at large since the late 90s, with a few exceptional seasons here and there. Travis too jumped in, obviously supporting the man’s decision, and promised, “Just be loyal to us, baby. We’ll treat you right over here at the Chiefs’ kingdom. We’ll make it so you will never have to cover up that Chiefs logo, dude.

Getting a bit serious, Jason put another twist in the tale when he disagreed with the Chiefs being the new ‘America’s Team’. “I think Philly building up a big contingency,” Jason said while supporting his team to be the frontrunner for the title. However, Travis stepped back from the debate, disagreeing with the whole deal and said, “I don’t give a sh*t about that. I don’t think anybody wants to be America’s team. I want to be the Chiefs, man. That’s who I want to be.” Insisting on not caring about titles and pressing on the Chiefs’ identity, he said, “America’s team? The boys can have that if they want.

While Travis Kelce may seem unbothered and in his zone, he still has aggressive moments. One of them happened right here on the New Heights Show when he talked about Will Compton‘s tweet on his alma mater, the Cincinnati Bearcats.

Travis goes all out on Will Compton

One ragebait-y tweet is all it took for Will Compton to charge up Chiefs Tight End, Travis Kelce. In a rather successful attempt in poking at Travis Kelce, Will Compton tweeted, “Would hate to beat your team’s ass on your home field in Arrowhead,” while hyping up the week 1 Cincinnati vs Nebraska game.

Reacting to this, Travis was not someone who would take the calm and quiet way to challenge Will. Instead, he chose to go full ballistic. It’s f***ing on like Donkey Kong,” said Travis as he went on to challenge Will on the New Heights Show. And if that was not enough, he went on to say the most unhinged thing anybody would’ve expected him to say. Travis looking straight into the camera, said, “You son of a b*tch. You’re getting my p*ss hot, Will.” Did not see that coming, did you? Such is the love and support that Travis still has for the Bearcats.

And if one of them was not enough, the other brother joined in as well with a rather odd analogy. One that even made Travis go ‘huh?’ “Corn’s tough. It’s hard to digest… But you know what can? A Binturong. They are going to eat sh*t out of you, Corn Huskin’ white guys wearing red uniforms,” Jason said, referring to the Binturong, the Bearcats’ official mascot and comparing the Nebraska Cornhuskers to well, corn.

Coincidentally, even Will Compton co-hosts a podcast called ‘Bussin’ with the Boys’, and with the college football fixture set to be aired. This feud might just go on national television with two podcast channels going after one another.
