Travis Kelce had been making rounds in the GOAT TE conversation for a long time. And his latest bout with the Miami Dolphins just sealed his place there with the likes of Gronk and Tony Gonzalez. Interestingly, Kelce was mentored by Gonzalez, former Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end. More so, he was the all-time receiving yards leader in the franchise at 10,490 yards.

However, Travis Kelce dethroned him at the Chiefs’ epic showdown with the Miami Dolphins at the Frankfurt Stadium in Germany. Kelce clocked in a Chiefs’ all-time high yards with 10,491, snubbing past Gonzalez by a mere tinker. And now, Kelce has paid the ultimate tribute to his mentor.

Travis Kelce appeared on the latest episode of his ‘New Heights’ podcast along with big bro Jason Kelce, about an hour ago. Here, the Kelce bros discussed in vivid detail, their fears, special requests, and the sponsorships they receive as players. In a segment, Travis Kelce also took a beat to pay tribute to mentor Tony Gonzalez.

Jason said, “Big Yeti makes history” referring to Kelce becoming the Chiefs’ all-time receiving yards leader on Sunday. Travis responded by lamenting that he should have made this record three games ago and then said, “It is an absolute honor. Ever since I came here to Kansas City to be mentored by the greatest tight-ends to ever do it. Tony Gonzalez. To fill his shoes every single day and to reach some of the milestones he’s set… it’s an honor to even be in KC knowing that greatness is walking them halls and I can be a part of that greatness.”
