Troy Aikman might have been a phenomenal Cowboy, but on the pitch of journalism, he sounds worse than a third-string quarterback. For many football enthusiasts, listening to him is nothing short of getting an earbleed. Some called him factually inaccurate, others are just bashing him for siding with a particular team.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Baltimore Ravens were going at it in a head-to-head matchup, but it was Troy Aikman and Joe Buck who came out as uncompetitive ones. Fans also called them out on the Buffalo Bills-New York Jets game for siding with Aaron Rodgers and calling bogus plays to be good.
Fans believe that Lamar Jackson doesn’t get enough credit when Troy Aikman is announcing a game. While he had also been hating on Baker Mayfield on a couple of occasions, people might have been displeased then the commentary went silent on Lamar Jackson’s 49-yard yard pass to Rashad Bateman with about 7:30 remaining in the third quarter.

But it’s not just the ignorance of Lamar Jackson that got the fans angry. Remember when Mike Evans missed a TD pass from Baker Mayfield and injured his hamstring? He made a whole scene about the injury not knowing a hamstring injury is very common to Mike Evans.
Later, a hit to Lamar Jackson’s head drew no comments on the play. But there’s more drama between Troy Aikman and Lamar Jackson than most people know. Apparently, Jackson filed a lawsuit against Troy Aikman for the use of their shared No. 8 in a U.S. Patent and Trademark Office complaint, according to federal records, per ESPN.
Per Jackson, the use of Number 8 is “likely to cause confusion, or cause mistake, or to deceive” the fans who don’t know whether they are buying apparel and bags from Troy Aikman or the Ravens QB. These filings came on July 9 this year.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Troy Aikman the most biased commentator in NFL history, or just misunderstood?
Have an interesting take?
It’s crazy to think that ESPN came running for Troy Aikman and offered him a deal of $90 million deal. Apparently, FOX never made a counteroffer to retain the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback. But people aren’t a fan of his commentary on ESPN either because they’ve had enough.

Fans feel frustrated with Troy Aikman
Addressing Lamar Jackson’s 49-yard TD to Lamar Jackson, a fan took to X and posted, “Lamar Jackson throws a bomb downfield on a crazy play and Troy Aikman barely says shit about it. #MNF #BALvsTB.” But that wasn’t it as a fan called him for acting surprised about Mike Evans’ hamstring injury.

“Troy Aikman knows nothing about Mike Evans he always injures his hamstring 😂,” penned down another fan. Another fan was generally frustrated with Aikman’s playcalling and expressed, “Jesus Christ Troy Aikman gives me a headache.”

Someone called out the veteran for apparently hating on Baker Mayfield as he jotted down, “Find someone who loves you as much as Troy Aikman hates Baker Mayfield 😂 #Sooners #WeAreTheKrewe,” while another personal was quick to humiliate the commentator on social media, saying, “Troy Aikman is a moron.”
