Tua Tagovailoa, quarterback for the Miami Dolphins, has been successful in making his mark in the football league. Though the season ended in disappointment for the QB by losing at the initial stage of the playoffs, the last year saw some stable performance from the star with him securing 29 TDs and covering 4624 yards. NFL passing yards leader, Tua, established himself next to the greatest Dolphins player in franchise history, Dan Marino, who showed faith in the star’s capability to lead the team to the Super Bowl in the coming years. However, the QB has been finding time for other important matters outside of the gridiron.

The Miami Dolphins star has now been inspiring the local youth by organizing an inaugural youth football camp in his home state of Hawaii, US. Through this camp, Tagovailoa has been benefiting the local players who have the zest for the game and wish to establish professional learning. Hailing from Saint Louis alumnus and Ewa Beach, Tua Tagovailoa hosted this camp through his Tua Foundation at  Kunuiakea Stadium in Honolulu on April 7.

Since the Tua Foundation’s inception in 2021, this is the first time when Tua hosted a youth camp at Oahu. Taking to its official Twitter handle, Miami Dolphins’s content page King of Phinland shared an update on Tua Tagovailoa’s noble initiative. The post highlighted the inspiring message that was given to the youth in the camp, with the caption reading, “Tua Tagovailoa ended his youth camp yesterday with a message about the importance of giving: “It’s all about giving back. It’s not what you have it’s what can you give that makes you feel good inside and make you want to do it more.”

The football star seemed eager to share his belief with the community, revealing his thoughts by saying, “This really is truly about giving back to the youth, giving back to the community that have helped you become who you are, and that’s sort of what I believe.“ Tua’s teammates also captivated the local youths by making their delightful presence known at the camp. Offensive tackle Terron Armstead and Dolphins’ cornerback Jalen Ramsey joined their quarterback during this chance to make the day for the young players.

Apart from this, Tua Tagovailoa often expresses his gratitude for receiving such huge support and appreciation for his performances from the youth and the community. “I wouldn’t change anything that has happened to me throughout my process leading to me up to where I’m standing today,” he once remarked.  He has expressed his anticipation for more philanthropic work in upcoming years, taking example from his seniors.

Tua Tagovailoa derives inspiration from other NFL stars!

Tagovailoa wants to pave the correct path for the local Hawaiian youths through his “giving back” camp. His constant goal is to set the right example like his fellow Hawaiian stars, Manti Te’o and Marcus Mariota, did for the younger budding players, giving them opportunity to interact with the professionals.

Tua Tagovailoa gave special thanks to the two football players, mentioning them as the role models for this decision, “Guys like Manti and Marcus, they would come back and have things like this… Doing this was very special for me.” His words express the zest to continue to give back to the community that never fails to extend its support to him, and showed how much Tua is enjoying investing his off-season in benefiting through their common love of football.
