After beating the Houston Texans in the NFL divisional round, Lamar Jackson has achieved a new feat of success in his professional career. After this game, the QB can expect to get a bump in his 5-year $260 million contract with the Baltimore Ravens. He started with the Ravens back in 2018, and by the looks of it, Jackson is in for a long haul and huge bonuses.

In the wake of this game, it’s only right to look at action Jackson’s contract details and what 2024 has in store for the Ravens QB. Jackson made more than 50% of his contract in guaranteed money and it’s only going to get better for him from here. Per his contract, it looks like he is one of the highest-paid athletes in the league with an average annual salary of around $52 million.

For his 2023-2024 season, he was guaranteed a sum of $7,500,000, excluding a signing bonus of $14,650,000, with the cap hitting $22,150,000 with a dead cap of $135,000,000. Now, after reaching this point in the season, his contract comes with bonuses that are just going to drive his value even higher. Come March 18, his 2024-2025 salary will be guaranteed.

In the following season, per Spotrac, Jackson is due for a guaranteed base salary of $14,250,000, a signing bonus of $14,650,000, and an optional $3,500,000 as incentives. For the upcoming season, the cap will hit $32,400,000, with a dead cap of $112,850,000.

However, it only gets better from here because, from the 2025-2026 season, he will get a base salary of $20,250,000, with a prorated bonus of $22,650,000 and a workout bonus of $750,000. When he reaches the 2026-2027 season, his base salary will be around $51,250,000 and $23,400,000 as prorated and workout bonuses.

However, there is more to his contract than it appears.

Further nuances and incentive details of Jackson’s contract with the Ravens are not available as of now, but it’s safe to say that extending Jackson’s contract might have been one of the best decisions that the Ravens made in April 2023. Before Jackson’s signing, Jalen Hurts led the leaderboard with a $255 million extension deal.

Per Over The Cap, Jackson has a no-trade clause in his contract which doesn’t allow for designation as a franchise or a transition player when his contract with the Ravens ends. It seems like for the next 3 seasons, he has a $750,000 roster signing bonus.

If Jackson is on the roster on the 5th day of the 2024 league year he will have his 2025 base salary of $20.25 million and a $750,000 roster bonus become guaranteed. If he finds his name on the roster on the 5th day of the 2025 league year, $29 million of “Jackson’s 2026 salary will be fully guaranteed.” The $750,000 roster bonuses are due on the 5th day of the 2026 and 2027 league year.
