Tyreek Hill became one of the most prolific wide receivers in the league in a very short amount of time. Some of his inspirations come from legends like Randy Moss and Jerry Rice. But there’s one more person that helped Hill perfect his craft. That man is Antonio Brown, or as people refer to him, AB. That’s why he is in Hill’s top 3 list of receivers, as per the latest comment from Hill.

The Miami Dolphins WR went on The Pivot Podcast and talked about various things like being the fastest in the league, his career with the Chiefs and even getting dubbed the “Kat Williams of WRs.” But his WR list is what captured the interest in this instance.

The hosts of The Pivot Podcast brought up the topic of GOAT wide receivers throughout the history of the sport. While obvious athletes like Jerry Rice and Randy Moss unequivocally made the list, Tyreek Hill thinks that the last spot should go to Antonio Brown, who spent 12 seasons in the league, before he retired in 2021, after winning the Super Bowl against the Chiefs.

Hill mentioned that AB helped hone his career from the start. He mentioned how at one point he knew Brown and had a “younger brother” kind of relationship with him. Tyreek Hill brought up the fact that he’s faced some problems because the teams thought that he was not tall enough. He mentioned how he wanted to model himself after Antonio Brown as the ex-Bucs receiver set a benchmark for shorter receivers throughout the league.

“I just tried to model myself out there you know everything that he did for like all the short receivers across the league. Because it’s tough to be a shorter receiver in the league man,” said Hill and mentioned how he had to prove himself to the Chiefs every day and Antonio Brown has been pivotal in Hill “modeling” himself after AB.

Tyreek Hill mentioned how his time with the Kansas City Chiefs had been very important. He learned some things under Reid’s offense that made him a “leader” when he got to the Miami Dolphins. Yet, apart from his usual talent that gets attention, a unique thing about Tyreek Hill’s success is his height. Not only does it make him fast and catch the ball with precision, but his short height makes him function like a Running Back as well. This has led him to have a lot of success in the NFL.

When the 2023 season was over, Hill had 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns. Although he couldn’t complete his 2k target, getting to 1.7k yards is still a challenging feat for many. He caught 119 or 171 passes targeted to him. He only fumbled the ball once in the 2023 season, which is remarkable on its own. And it brings attention to the fact of whether its too soon to add Tyreek Hill’s name in the greatest WRs or if he has already done enough at his age to achieve the honor.
