“Adversity is part of life. It makes you who you are.” That quote could practically be Tyreek Hill‘s motto. The Cheetah’s offseason has been anything but relaxing. From battling through a torn wrist ligament throughout the 2024 season, resulting in a significant dip in his usually explosive stats, to a Pro Bowl snub and even two wrist surgeries, Hill has faced a series of challenges. And now, legal issues have entered the mix. But even with all this weighing on him, Tyreek Hill is charging forward, ready to face his rivals head-on. And now he’s facing his nemesis.
Even with our guy Tyreek Hill dealing with some marriage drama, he still keeps it light. This Sunday, he dropped a simple three-word message: “Fishing with Peely.” So yeah, Tyreek’s out fishing, and oh, by the way, Peely’s that dude who’s given him a hard time plenty of times before. Yep, Peely is that banana-skinned kid who always has a blast with Tyreek and loves to tease him. But hey, this isn’t Tyreek’s first rodeo when it comes to fishing. Let us tell ya, the last time? Oh man, it went sideways real quick. So wild, in fact, that it landed him in a serious incident with the cops.

Flashback to 2023: Tyreek was out enjoying the long weekend. He went deep-sea fishing with friends and his big-shot agent. However, everything was cool—until it wasn’t. Things even got a little gnarly once they were back at the Haulover Park Marina dock. Apparently, Tyreek tried hooking into some of those big tarpons that hang around under the charter fleet, munching on leftovers. The problem is that it’s a no-go and kind of against the unwritten fishing code.
Anyway, word on the dock (and from law enforcement) is that Tyreek got into it with a couple of dudes there. The guys told him the fishing move wasn’t cool, and next thing you know, one of them claimed Tyreek smacked him on the back of the head. Yeah, talk about drama. But like every good fish story, the details got blurry real fast.
Now, enter the police report. It didn’t mention a peep about fishing tarpon, but painted a slightly different picture. Supposedly, this all started because a marina employee noticed two women chilling on a boat they weren’t supposed to be on. So the employee rolled up to check what’s what, and boom—a verbal spat with someone who’s allegedly the Dolphins’ wide receiver. According to the report, this guy threw an open-hand slap to the employee’s neck before being held back. Lucky for Tyreek, there were no injuries noted, though surveillance cameras did catch the whole situation.
The report also mentioned that before things hit the fan, Tyreek’s group chatted with the Kelley Fishing Fleet manager about renting a boat, but decided to pass since it was “too expensive” (guess they didn’t want to splurge). Fast forward a couple of days—Tyreek, his agent Drew Rosenhaus, and the Dolphins were all keeping their lips zipped on the whole ordeal. And forget getting names from marina employees or dockside workers—those folks were staying as tight-lipped as a clam. Long story short? Fans definitely haven’t forgotten about that fiasco from 2023, and now his latest fishing post has everyone revisiting that messy chapter from his playbook. Classic Tyreek.

Can Tyreek Hill's speed silence his critics, or will his off-field antics overshadow his talent?

Inside the drama: Tyreek Hill, IShowSpeed, and Noah Ilyes
Tyreek Hill isn’t just turning heads with his blazing speed on the football field—he’s also stirring up some drama off it. The Miami Dolphins star has been making waves lately with some playful (and not-so-playful) rivalries. First, he went after viral internet sensation Darren “iShowSpeed” Watkins Jr., then Olympic sprint champ Noah Lyles. Now, everyone’s buzzing about whether Hill has the guts to back up his big talk or if he’s just stirring the pot.
It all kicked off when Tyreek threw down the gauntlet, challenging IShowSpeed to a $100K race for charity. Speed, who’s never one to back away from the spotlight, took the challenge very seriously. The dude even pulled up to Tyreek’s training camp, talking smack like, “If you beat me, I won’t say anything. You got it, what I’m saying?” But instead of squaring up for the race, Hill straight-up bounced, leaving Speed laughing and yelling, “He’s scared!”

Hill wasn’t going to let that narrative fly, though. In another interview, he flipped the script, saying, “He’s scared. Speed’s scared.” Of course, that whole interaction went viral—especially since there’s video proof of Hill dipping out while Speed stood there, ready to race. Let’s be real—the internet ate that up.

But if you think his beef with Speed is nothing more than some funny banter, Tyreek’s back-and-forth with Noah Lyles feels way more legit. Lyles already threw shade earlier this year by holding up a sign that said “Tyreek could never” after winning the 60m at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix. Talk about salt in the wound! Tyreek wasn’t shy about firing back, though, hopping on X (yeah, that’s what we’re calling it now) to post, “Get a load of this guy.” With that clap back, fans are now hyped for what could be an epic showdown—a 60-meter sprint where NFL explosiveness meets track-and-field precision.
Now, we have what might be one of the weirdest—but most exciting storylines in sports: two potential races. One against the $10M man, Speed, who might not be the fastest but sure knows how to bring the energy (seriously, the dude reportedly tops out at 11 mph). And then there’s Lyles—an actual world-class sprinter with serious hardware to back it up—who could very well humble even Tyreek. Fans are sitting on the edge of their seats. Will Hill shut everybody up by outracing both rivals? Or will he get smoked and leave with a bruised ego? Either way, this whole thing’s shaping up to be must-see entertainment. Let the countdown to speed supremacy begin.
