After week 1 heartbreaking loss to the Dolphins, the Jaguars couldn’t have hoped for a worse start to their 2024 NFL campaign. Early reports from Jacksonville have stated that the Jaguars’ lineup could be changing due to extended injuries. Well, the Jaguars didn’t only come out empty-handed from Hard Rock Stadium, but were handed multiple injuries to begin their new season miserably.

As called by NFL reporter Cameron Wolfe in his recent post, “I’m told Campbell was expected to miss at least a few weeks with a hamstring injury. IR will have him miss a minimum of 4 games, but gives him a chance to fully heal.” This news would be devastating for the Jaguars as they try to get back on track against the Browns in their week 2 clash.

Looking back at the incident that got Campbell heavily injured, it was a result of a running collision with the Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle. It was the Miami receiver who was running down the corner route to take a catch thrown by Tagovailoa. However, courtesy of Campbell, that pass was deemed incomplete as he got flagged for pass interference.

After Campbell got himself added to the injury reserve, the Jaguars moved quickly to bring Tre Flowers from their practice squad to the active roster. But citing Campbell’s absence from the roster in the next few weeks, rookie Jarrian Jones and Montaric Brown could find themselves rewarded with playing time.

However, this injury would sting the Jaguars like a dagger after they handed Tyson Campbell a four-year contract worth $76 million this summer. With $31.4 million guaranteed, the Jaguars would be hoping he can come back sooner to the squad. Moving our attention toward the Jaguars’ next few fixtures, it is highly unlikely they will win their first game of the season anytime soon.

Will Campbell be a huge miss for the Jaguars?

Although the Jaguars would be facing the Browns in their week 2 clash, Cleveland cannot be underestimated as their offense looks sorted. Well, ignoring the night Deshaun Watson had, the Browns offense were missing offensive tackles Jedrick Willis and Jack Conklin. However, taking nothing away from the Jaguars, they can still exploit the Browns’ defense as the Cowboys did in the season opener.

Moving ahead, their third game would be against the Bills, who dusted away the Cardinals by recording a 34-28 victory in their opening clash. With Josh Allen leading from the center, the Jaguars could be in for a tough time to record a win. And, finally, they will lock horns against the Texans, who have C.J. Stroud dictating the plays. Even though it is considerably difficult for the Jaguars to win their clashes against the Bills and Texans.

They might be able to come out as the winner against a Browns team that has Deshaun Watson, leading the line. As things stand, the Jaguars would be hoping they can get Campbell back on track before crucial encounters.
