The Minnesota Vikings and Cleveland Browns are playing their week 5 game in London. The two teams became the latest to cross the Atlantic in pursuit of NFL glory. Sunday’s game marked the 37th NFL contest ever played in England.
The matchup aired live on NFL Network, bringing the action. But the reaction from fans wasn’t quite what the league had hoped for. Fans called out the duo. Has the broadcast mentioned even once that Jordan Addison did not play a snap in the first quarter?
— Thor Nystrom (@thorku) October 5, 2025
The conversation around the Vikings-Browns game is definitely not getting a positive response from the people watching the broadcast. Despite Jordan Addison being active, the wide receiver didn’t play a single snap in the first quarter—a decision later confirmed by ESPN’s Kevin Seifert as a “coach’s decision.” Yet, the broadcast never addressed it. Viewers immediately took to social media, questioning how such a key storyline was missed.

The broadcast booth is staffed by seasoned professionals. Jonathan Vilma, a Super Bowl champion and three-time Pro Bowler, embarks on his sixth season as a FOX NFL analyst in 2025, maintaining his long-standing on-air partnership with Kenny Albert. A decade-long NFL veteran and former BCS national champion, Vilma smoothly transitioned to broadcasting following his retirement, honing his craft over four years with ABC and ESPN before joining FOX Sports in 2020.
Kenny Albert is among the most experienced voices in American sports. Entering his 32nd season with FOX Sports, he is the network’s longest-tenured NFL play-by-play announcer and, in October 2024, became the first broadcaster to call 500 regular-season or postseason NFL games for a single network.Yet, despite their impressive credentials, both Albert and Vilma have faced no shortage of criticism from fans.

Vikings-Browns fans slam broadcast duo
A fan quickly jumped in with a jab: “Jonathan Vilma and Kenny Albert is the worst duo 😂😂.”
That reaction summed up what many viewers felt throughout the game. Fans didn’t just dislike the broadcast; they outright called it out. The same duo handled New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers broadcasts earlier this season.
Another user wrote, “Kenny Albert could be one of the worst commentators for football I have ever heard. What happened to him? I’m not even bringing up Vilma cause he’s so bad he’s in a different stratosphere.” Calling both the commentators below par.

“This broadcast gets an F so far. They ignored the Jordan Addison benching. They missed the start of a play when showing a replay. And Carson Schwesinger just made great back-to-back plays, and Kenny Albert didn’t mention him. ” Fans also had issues with how they covered and missed a few important plays of the game.
The fan wasn’t exaggerating. Viewers pointed out that the crew completely ignored Jordan Addison’s first-quarter benching and failed to credit rookie linebacker Carson Schwesinger for consecutive highlight stops.
That omission stung most. Schwesinger, the No. 33 overall pick from April, has been one of Cleveland’s biggest surprises this season. He’s already turned early skepticism into Defensive Rookie of the Year chatter, ranking 10th among all linebackers (minimum 147 snaps) with an 81.6 PFF grade. On the Browns’ defense, only Devin Bush (22) has more tackles than Schwesinger’s 21.
But instead of highlighting his rise, the booth barely mentioned him. Fans noticed. “I mean Vilma and Kenny Albert are legit the bottom barrel announce crew.”
Addison, 23, is no stranger to headlines. The former USC star, drafted in the first round in 2023, entered the game with 1,900 career receiving yards and 19 touchdowns. The silence from the booth only deepened fan frustration, wondering how a game with so much story to tell could sound so tone-deaf.
