NFL Gods haven’t blessed the Minnesota Vikings just yet. J.J. McCarthy, who was set to perform his debut season in 2025, is once again sidelined in Week 4, in Dublin. This brings all eyes to Carson Wentz, who will be filling in the starting QB role once again. Even experts like Jeff Kerr believe that the “Vikings should stick with Wentz.”

Wentz’s pro journey began in 2016 when the Philadelphia Eagles drafted him. His best season to date remains 2017, when he led Philly to clinch the NFC’s top seed. However, he couldn’t go further due to a season-ending injury and was replaced by Nick Foles, who ultimately brought the team its first-ever Super Bowl trophy. Before he landed in Minnesota this Summer, he spent his four seasons with the Colts, Commanders, Rams, and Chiefs.

Where is Carson Wentz from? What is Carson Wentz’s Nationality?

Carson Wentz was born in the capital city of North Carolina, Raleigh, in 1992, and is a citizen of the United States. 

When he turned three, Carson moved to Bismarck, North Dakota, with his parents, Cathy and Doug Wentz. This move shaped much of his upbringing. There, he started playing football. He played both quarterback and defensive back at his high school, Century High School. He graduated top of his class as a valedictorian in 2011. 

To follow his passion for gridiron, he went to North Dakota State. Though he got his first collegiate game as a freshman in 2012, it wasn’t until 2014 that he earned the Bison starting quarterback position as a junior. Before he made his debut in the NFL, he led the Bison to yet another FCS championship. For the second straight year, he walked away as the game’s Most Outstanding Player.

Though Carson Wentz was born in a Christian household, he emphasized the true meaning of the faith for him in 2017. It was around the time when he sustained a season-ending injury in the midst of his best career season.

“So for me to just fully trust, fully surrender [and say]: All right, God, I’m just here for surrender to you. And I want to give everything I can in my life to ultimately glorify you as best I can,'” he told Associated Press.

Faith is the thing Carson turns to when life gets tough or good. It’s something that keeps him with a different perspective to handle whatever life throws at him. He has admitted it’s not always easy to stick with that mindset, but he tries to focus on what the Bible says about mental renewal. For him, it’s a daily process of letting scripture refresh his perspective and choosing to fully trust and devote himself to God.
