If you’re the kind of fan who treats the injury report like a stock ticker, buckle up. This one’s a bloodbath. The Minnesota Vikings just dropped their final Week 5 injury report ahead of their London matchup with the Cleveland Browns, and let’s just say it’s the kind of list that makes both coaches and fans reach for the nearest stress ball. It’s bad.

Thirteen names. Yep, thirteen players on the injury report. And six of them are already ruled out. Quarterback J.J. McCarthy remains sidelined with an ankle injury, while the offensive line takes major hits with guard Donovan Jackson out due to a wrist issue, center Michael Jurgens unable to play through a hamstring injury, and center Ryan Kelly out with a concussion. Right tackle Brian O’Neill is also unavailable with a knee problem.
Outside linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel has been ruled out with a neck injury, depleting Minnesota’s pass rush rotation. Tight end Ben Yurosek carries a questionable designation after limited Friday participation following a knee issue that kept him out Wednesday and Thursday.

Outside linebacker Tyler Batty and fullback C.J. Ham both practiced fully all week despite knee injuries and are listed as questionable, though their full participation suggests they’re likely to play. Running back Zavier Scott practiced fully throughout the week with a knee issue and appears ready for action.
Tackle Christian Darrisaw received a veteran rest day on Wednesday and Thursday before full Friday participation. Outside linebacker Dallas Turner missed Thursday with an illness but returned Friday. Safety Harrison Smith received limited work on Friday as a veteran rest day.

It won’t be an exaggeration to call this a crisis. QB J.J. McCarthy, EDGE Andrew Van Ginkel, LG Donovan Jackson, C Ryan Kelly, C Michael Jurgens, and RT Brian O’Neill, all officially ruled out for the Browns matchup.
That’s three-fifths of the offensive line sitting out. The Vikings haven’t fielded their full starting O-line once this season, and it’s showing. The Vikings have surrendered 18 sacks through the first four games. They’re last in the league. At this rate, Carson Wentz might start charging hazard pay.
The possible reinforcements? Undrafted rookie Joe Huber gets the call at left guard, and Justin Skule slides over to right tackle. Skule’s already been tossed around the line a few times this year, starting twice at left tackle before Christian Darrisaw returns. Not ideal, but it’s all hands on deck at this point.
“I don’t look at it as anything more than the next man up,” Head coach Kevin O’Connell said. “We’ve got to consistently do some more simple things early on in the game, from the standpoint of doing our job.”
Meanwhile, over in Cleveland, things aren’t exactly perfect. But compared to Minnesota’s situation, it looks like a spa day.
Only one confirmed absence for Kevin Stefanski’s Browns
Nine names on the Browns’ report, and only one player ruled out. Defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. is sidelined with a knee injury after limited Wednesday practice and missing Thursday-Friday sessions, creating a gap in Cleveland’s interior defensive line rotation.
Offensive tackle Jack Conklin carries a questionable tag with an elbow issue despite progressing to full Friday participation. Cornerback Greg Newsome II remains uncertain with a hamstring problem after limited practice all week, potentially weakening the secondary.
Conklin, though, looks more promising. Compared to Newsome, at least. Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski just has to decide if he wants to risk him or not. Either way, the Browns are in far better shape than the purple walking wounded.

Star defensive end Myles Garrett missed Wednesday with an ankle issue but returned for limited Thursday-Friday work, suggesting he’ll play through discomfort. Guard Joel Bitonio, defensive tackle Maliek Collins, tackle Cornelius Lucas, safety Grant Delpit, and tight end David Njoku all received veteran rest days early in the week before returning to full participation.
Hall’s absence depletes defensive line depth, while Conklin and Newsome’s questionable status creates uncertainty at two critical positions. Cleveland must monitor Garrett’s ankle closely, given his importance to the pass rush.

And beyond the bruises and bandages, there’s another storyline brewing: Dillon Gabriel is getting his first career start at QB for Cleveland after Joe Flacco’s rollercoaster few weeks. On the other sideline? A banged-up Vikings team just trying to keep its quarterback upright long enough to throw.
If you were betting, it would have made sense to go all in on the Vikings. But with this injury report? You’d better hold your bets. This matchup just became a lot more unpredictable.
