The New York Jets have been abysmal all season. But last Sunday’s humiliating blowout loss at the hands of the Miami Dolphins was the last nail for many. A 30-0 loss this deep in the season is already tough to swallow for many, but the Jets have looked unmotivated throughout the season. Amidst the chaos, injured QB Aaron Rodgers lays down his opinions on the head coach.

The Jets once again failed to qualify for the playoffs. With a dismal record of 5-9, it’s somehow natural that many would want the 44-year-old HC Robert Salah gone. There’s certainly chaos and dismay at the Jets’ camp, so it will be interesting to hear A-Rod’s thoughts on all of this.

Aaron Rodgers comes to the forefront

A-Rod, the 4X MVP recently was on the Pat McAfee Show and he let his heart out! He talked about many things including HC Salah. Rodgers said to the hosts, “I believe in Robert Salah I think he’s a fantastic coach. I think he’s about the right stuff and I think he emphasizes the right things being about the right stuff how to be a professional”.

Apart from coming to the rescue of his new HC, Rodgers also defended the coaching staff in his interview. The likes of Nathaniel Hackett (OC) and Joe Douglas (GM) have also been facing criticism. But A-Rod painted a different picture for them as well.

“I believe in Joe Douglas I think he’s put together a lot of great drafts and a great roster”, Rodgers said. He also completed the OC Hackett saying, “The offense that he runs is quarterback friendly”. But what hurts Rodgers the most is his inability to contribute to the team. When can we expect him to return?

The glorious return of A-Rod

The Super Bowl winner injured his Achilles tendon in his debut for the Jets. Expectations were that Rodgers was done for the season, but things started to change within days. The 40-year-old QB shocked everyone with his recovery. And it looked like Rodgers would be back on the field, maybe just in time to save the Jets’ season. But that is not how things turned out eventually.

But he needs 3-4 weeks to get medically cleared and fit enough to play. He has reassured the Jets fans that they will see him next year. A-Rod said, “I feel like I can play more years and be effective into my 40s”. He has given fans hope for the 2024 season.
