It was truly an epic clash at the historic Super Bowl LVIII as the  Kansas City Chiefs snatched the victory from the San Francisco 49ers in the last moments of the game. Before the season’s best two teams squared off inside the Allegiant Stadium, the 49ers were favored to be slightly ahead. And for the first two quarters, it looked like that only. That’s until the Chiefs staged an epic comeback led by Patrick Mahomes to win their 2nd consecutive Super Bowl Championship.

With this breathtaking last-moment victory, the Chiefs stamped their legacy as one of the best NFL teams. But not everyone agrees. A social media beef took place between two NFL players with 49ers Charvarius Ward, making a mockery of Sauce Gardner’s tweet.

Sauce Gardner and Charvarius Ward debate Chiefs vs 49ers

After the Kansas City Chiefs scripted history in Super Bowl LVIII yesterday, New York Jets’ Sauce Gardner was among the joyous ones. The cornerback tweeted right after the Chiefs victory, hailing the Chiefs as one of the best teams of the NFL. “I told y’all. The 49ers might look better on paper but the Chiefs always find a way“, he wrote on X. However, it didn’t sit well with the 49ers’ Charvarius Ward.

Ward responded with strong words to Gardner and even called him a ‘kid’. “Boy yo a** ain’t never sniffed the playoffs. You watching from the crouch. Worry about the sorry ass JETS. Everybody got something to say about the team in the Super Bowl. You opinion doesn’t need to be heard kid“, his angry reply read. Although Gardner is yet to appear in a playoff game, he was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and a first-team All-Pro as well. Nonetheless, the 49ers were still reeling from the loss, and the anger was justified. However, one of their star players didn’t.

Brock Purdy accepts defeat

After all the chatter at the start of his career, Brock Purdy was all set to prove everyone wrong at the Super Bowl LVIII. However, fate had different plans as the 49ers fell short in the end, especially on the offensive end. However, Purdy showed courage after the loss and admitted that he was the reason behind not being able to end the 49ers ‘ year wait for the championship.

Speaking with the media after the match, he said, “I failed to put our team in position to [score touchdowns]”. The 49ers were all over the place when Patrick Mahomes staged the comeback, and Purdy believes he could have handled the team better. “I gotta be better to lead the guys and handling the huddle”, he expressed. Nonetheless, the 24-year-old has a glorious career ahead of him. It won’t be long before he eventually wins one.
