The Baltimore Ravens were in the driving seat to win the AFC Championship and secure a Super Bowl spot. But this was before the game started, as the strategies in the game made the Ravens look ordinary. Now head coach John Harbaugh comes out in defense of his play-calling.

A ton of criticisms were leveled against the 61-year-old HC and the OC Todd Monken after the game. Most of it is regarding the lack of rushing throughout the game. And the Super Bowl-winning head coach counters the narrative with the press conference.

John Harbaugh takes a defensive stance

Lamar Jackson is one of the most ferocious rushing QBs in the history of the game. Hence viewers were shocked to see him dropping back and throwing air balls against the Kansas City Chiefs. But, Harbaugh clarifies that was not part of the plan.

“Believe it or not, it was a big part of the plan to run the ball”, said Harbaugh stressing their game plan to the press. But this plan was not executed, which resulted in the loss for the Ravens. And QB Jackson was forced to improvise on the fly.

But it was the highly capable defense of the Chiefs that kept the Ravens at bay. The Ravens held this season-review press conference to not only talk about the season gone by but also to look forward. And the future looks bright for the Ravens.

The cost of a long season of football

Harbaugh was also joined by the General Manager of the Ravens Eric DeCosta. And the first and foremost thing, the duo talked about concerning the next season are the injuries. After a long season of football, some injuries are to be expected.

However, the Ravens have managed to stay healthy and game shape throughout the season. And it looks like that trend is continuing. “There’s no big, major injuries at this point”, said the head coach. And even though the fans are dissatisfied with the loss, the news is sure to be an uplifting one.
