If the playoff spot wasn’t already clinched, the Philadelphia Eagles would’ve been in deep trouble. Now on a 3-game losing streak, the Eagles try to put their run of bad form behind them. But CB, Darius Slay, still has issues with a coaching change that was made recently.

In an unprecedented move, the Eagles’ HC, Nick Sirianni, demoted his defensive coordinator, Sean Desai, despite having a winning record. In his place, Matt Patricia was given a promotion, but CB Slay still has some regrets on his mind.

A coaching change that shocked everyone in the football world, but seemed necessary. After all, the last season’s Super Bowl team had leaked a whopping 75 points in just 2 games. But the defensive backbone for the Eagles believes that the problems were with the squad and not Desai.

“In my opinion, as players, I feel like it’s our fault. We failed him”, said Slay in a recent media scrum. The 32-year-old defender also emphasized his sad feelings about a qualified person being demoted because of issues at their end.

This week marked another defeat for the Eagles after the monumental change in the coaching department. However, this loss did not come with the humiliation of being on the receiving end of a multitude of points. The Seattle Seahawks did come away with the victory, but only 20-17.

The last game might have provided some respite for the defense, but not enough confidence for the fans. The Seahawks do not have the quality offensive lineup like the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys, the Eagles’ previous two losses. Otherwise, the loss could’ve been greater, too.
