CJ Stroud came out standing on business tonight. He was able to nearly match his performance to one of his idols, Michael Vick, displaying utter dominance on the field. The 45-14 win against the Cleveland Browns will help the team to progress further in the playoffs, establishing confidence and consistency for themselves. The Texans QB broke many records today, one of those was winning a playoff game in his rookie year.

In the wake of this win, celebrations are in order. However, CJ Stroud does give the credit where it’s due, and in this game, it led him to thank his teammates and the power of God. He came out in the presser and talked about how his and the team’s faith played a huge part in this win against the Browns and Joe Flacco.

Without hesitation, Stroud brought his God-fearing side out and said, “We have a lot of God-fearing brothers on the team and God-fearing sisters on the staff so um, I think definitely God is at the forefront of our minds and we play for the audience and won. Even when everything is going crazy you can lock in and just have peace you know so, I’m blessed enough to even have a leader like DeMeco”.

He then mentioned how people hold their team to a standard and per Stroud, it is right to be held in such a regard so that “he can hold his crosses” and “be like Christ.” The QB added, “We make mistakes, we’re not perfect you know. But at the same time, we at the same time with God we can do all things that Christ instructed us”

Stroud turned 22 in October and what a start he has had after completing the past year. He came head-to-head with his idol Michael Vick, who broke the same record of winning a playoff game as the youngest QB in 2003. Vick led the Atlanta Falcons to a playoff win against the Green Bay Packers that year.

Stroud sat back and enjoyed the show after the Browns gave away back-to-back pick-sixes as there was not much left for him to do. His 3 touchdowns played a crucial role in the game, allowing the Texans to host utter dominance over the Browns.
