Stefon Diggs found a new home! The Buffalo Bills made a trade on Wednesday, sending their star player, the four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Diggs to the Houston Texans. In return, the Bills received draft picks from the Texans.

They got a second-round pick in 2025 from the Minnesota Vikings (which the Texans had acquired earlier), as well as a sixth-round pick in the 2024 draft (No.189 overall) and a fifth-round pick in the 2025 draft from the Texans themselves. This trade allowed the Bills to gain valuable draft assets while the Texans acquired a talented player in Diggs to bolster their roster. Although it’s happy news for Houston, former NFL punter Pat McAfee reportedly seemed envious of the move.

In the latest episode of The Pat McAfee Show, the host talked about the recent surprising trade in the NFL. In a passionate rant, Pat McAfee expressed his envy towards the Houston Texans for their recent acquisition of wide receiver Stefon Diggs from the Bills.

McAfee emphasized, “The Houston Texans have traded for Stefon Diggs of the Buffalo Bills, yes the Houston Texans of the AFC South, the Houston Texans that were supposed to be dumpster fire for at least another decade or two, the Houston Texans that people were calling a UFL team about a year and a half ago…..the team that was supposed to s*ck forever in the AFC South…..” traded arguably number 1 wide receiver.

He highlighted the significant changes in leadership, including the hiring of head coach David Culley and general manager Nick Caserio, who have brought stability and success to the organization.

McAfee also praised the Texans’ offensive prowess, noting their impressive weapons and dynamic play-calling. He also lamented the missed opportunity for his previous team, the Indianapolis Colts, expressing, “….they patched those things up, obviously had a season towards the end, wasn’t as great as maybe it was at the beginning, but then just last night on Twitter, I think what potentially pushed and this is no inside information at all, this is me, just being incredibly pissed off about the whole situation, of course, second-rounder, we need a weapon too here in Indianapolis, we can throw a second-rounder, can only toss a couple of second rounders….

Although McAfee’s wish didn’t succeed in getting Diggs in the Colts, the Texans on the other hand have got their weapons, going beyond having a promising future.

An important piece for the Texans!

During his time with the Bills, Stefon Diggs caught the most passes in the NFL over four seasons (445 catches) and earned four consecutive Pro Bowl selections. The Houston Texans made a smart move last year by drafting CJ Stroud as the no. 2 overall pick, right after the Carolina Panthers selected quarterback Bryce Young. While Young struggled in California, Stroud immediately showed he’s a top-notch quarterback by winning the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

The Texans have been busy this offseason, making moves like trading for RB Joe Mixon and signing pass rusher Danielle Hunter. With Diggs now on board, their offense could become quite strong. He joins Tank Dell and Nico Collins to form a formidable trio of WRs for Stroud. Additionally, Dalton Schultz adds depth as a capable tight end.
