You never know when chaos will strike in the NFL—just ask Sauce Gardner. The Jets’ CB found himself on the wrong end of a collision—and nope, it wasn’t a pretty sight.

NFL reporter Arye Pulli got the scoop first, tweeting, “Jets CB Sauce Gardner just went down after colliding with Quincy Williams. He’s in the medical tent now.” After the brutal hit with teammate Quincy Williams, Gardner was quickly taken to the blue medical tent, where he was evaluated for a concussion. Sports writer BenJarmin Mungula confirmed the situation with his own tweet: “Sauce Gardner is heading to the medical tent.” However, as of yet, there’s been no update if the CB’s actually got a concussion.

This ain’t the Cincinnati Bearcats standout’s first rodeo with injuries. Back in September, he mysteriously vanished during the season opener against the Niners. Turned out, it was a left shoulder injury (occurred while tackling Deebo Samuel).

While the Jets’ PR team assured everyone that it wasn’t a medical issue, the image of Gardner sitting alone fueled a wave of anxiety. His temporary disappearance changed the game, giving the San Fran team an opening they didn’t need. Now, with Gardner in the medical tent yet again, the Jets are biting their nails.

But amid the chatter about potential trades involving Davante Adams, Sauce Gardner’s itching for a chance to go toe-to-toe with elite receivers like Justin Jefferson

Sauce Gardner zeroes in on Justin Jefferson

Gardner’s ready to light it up! While everyone was splitting up about WR Adams’ trade request, the 24-year-old was laser-focused on what’s next: shutting down Minnesota’s Justin Jefferson. “I know Aaron and Davante have a great relationship. And me and Davante have a pretty cool relationship too,” the CB said before Thursday practice. Sure, Gardner and Adams shared a cool vibe back at the Pro Bowl, but right now, it’s all about locking horns with Jefferson in London.

“I know the coaches and the front office are going to do whatever they feel is best for the team,” the two-time Pro Bowl CB alluded, brushing off the trade talk like a pro. Jefferson’s been a monster this season—racking up 358 receiving yards and four TDs (the Vikings are sitting at 4-0).

Last year in December, Gardner faced Jefferson and held him to a mere 45 yards—a feat that has Jets fans dreaming of a repeat. “Justin’s an incredible player and a good person,” he acknowledged.

With the stakes high and the trade chatter swirling, Sauce Gardner’s ready to prove he’s not just a one-hit wonder.
