Consequently, there were a few injuries inflicted, including the one that Sheldon Rankins received during the play. As a defensive tackle, Rankins had to put himself on the line and endured a left hamstring while defending against the fierce offense of the Chiefs Kingdom. Luckily for him, the time was still left on the clock. So, what was the call that the team made for him?

Well let’s just say, the Bengals didn’t want to risk their big man for a game that was about to wrap up soon. Rankins was one of the linemen who pulled through and handled Mahomes and the rest of his warriors. While trying to keep the opponents at bay, Rankins eventually got his left hamstring pulled.

To keep him safe, the team decided to not let him re-enter the field. However, this change of heart didn’t just occur to the team right away. After the first injury, he reportedly returned to the game. But then again, he was finally declared out after a quick checkup.

This is when the team realized that they shouldn’t let him play if they wished to extract the best out of him this season. The Bengals didn’t reveal much about the severity but it seems he will probably be fine for the next week’s game. Does this mean that the Bengals will have a chance at winning the next game?

Will Sheldon Rankins’ presence help the team next week?

The defensive tackle is a good presence on the team because of how well-suited he is for his role. As of now, Cincinnati Bengals hold 0-2 win to loss ratio. However, they undoubtedly had a good shot at winning the Sunday game against the Chiefs than they did during their season opener. For a while, it felt like they might even bag the victory against the Super Bowl champions because of how Joe Burrow and his team were right ahead of the Chief Kingdom in scoring. While the game started off slow, it built up its pace and kept us on our toes.

No matter which team you support, you wouldn’t find it hard to confirm that Bengals could have won this match. This means, they might be on the right path and having the same team in every game is good for the chemistry to show its magic. So, if Rankins’ hamstring isn’t as serious, he will be there for the third match-up of the season. Just like they say, ‘third time’s the charm’. This might prove true for Cincinnati when they host against the Washington Commanders, who are 1-1 after their recent loss to the Vikings.
